Mitch White (0-0, 3.75 ERA): White made his first start of the season against the Diamondbacks on July 31. The righty had previously worked exclusively out of the bullpen for the Dodgers but he gave up two earned runs over 3 2-3 innings against Arizona. White struck out five in that game, and he also threw 58 pitches. After throwing 65 in a long appearance out of the bullpen two games prior, it’s not that unreasonable to think that White can give the Dodgers five innings here.
Ranger Suarez (5-3, 0.98 ERA): Suarez has given up just five earned runs in 46 innings of work out of the bullpen this season, which goes to show just how dominant he has been for Philadelphia. Now, the lefty is beginning to start games for the Phillies, but he is really serving as more of an opener. Suarez has started each of the last two games for Philly, but he hasn’t gone into the fourth inning of either start. Perhaps that changes here, but expect to see a lot of relievers in this one.

The Dodgers are arguably the most dangerous offense in all of baseball, but the Phillies have a legitimate weapon opening this game for them. Suarez might not work deep into games but the southpaw is capable of coming out and giving Philadelphia a few shutdown innings. If he can go three or four without giving up a run — which is very possible when looking at his numbers this year — the Phillies will be in great shape as home underdogs here.
White gave up two earned runs in 3 2-3 innings of work against the Diamondbacks in his first career start roughly two weeks ago, but this Phillies offense is much more dangerous. Philadelphia might have dropped the first two games in this series, but the team had won eight in a row before facing Los Angeles.
Keep an eye on Bryce Harper in this game, as the slugger will be looking forward to facing a righty after having to go against David Price last night. Harper is hitting .311 with 18 homers and 41 RBIs against right-handed pitching this year — and as he has just 20 homers and 45 RBIs in total, that’s a huge majority of his production.

The Dodgers are sending White to the mound in this game, which means they’re hoping for three or four innings and no more than one or two runs on the board for the Phillies.
Los Angeles will then look to a Top-10 bullpen to limit the damage the rest of the way, making it unlikely that Philadelphia will put up too big of a number in this game.
Meanwhile, the Phillies have the opposite situation in this game, as they can expect a good performance from Suarez and just need their lousy bullpen not to fall apart in this game. It’s definitely possible against an offense as good as the Dodgers, but the Under still seems like a better play here.
