Giants vs Astros prediction
My Giants vs Astros best bet: Logan Webb Over 4.5 strikeouts (+116 at FanDuel)
Logan Webb has been as steady as they come for the San Francisco Giants throughout his career. The 28-year-old starter has established himself as a solid presence on the mound in The Bay, sporting a career ERA+ of 118.
Although Webb lasted just five innings in his season debut, allowing three earned runs and striking out five against the Reds, he now gets a chance to go up against a Houston Astros offense that has yet to find any rhythm.
Houston has scored just eight runs in its first four games of the season, averaging 8.25 strikeouts per game. Webb isn’t an overpowering pitcher, but he’s capable of getting a handful of strikeouts. He collected five in his first start and finished with 172 Ks through 204.2 IP last year.
The right-hander racked up 5+ Ks in 20 of 33 starts last season, including five punchouts in six innings against the Astros.
Giants vs Astros same-game parlay (SGP)
I’m going to fade this Astros offense until it shows that it can put some runs on the board.
Hayden Wesneski is set to make his Houston debut after coming over from the Cubs in the offseason. He’s a fine pitcher and should be able to keep it low-scoring through five or six innings.
