Orioles vs Yankees odds
This odds widget represents the best odds available for each betting market from regulated sportsbooks.
The Yankees opened as -225 favorites against the Orioles in this game, but their dominance in this series just might be impacting some things. New York is now as high as a -255 favorite on the moneyline on one sportsbook, making it hard to bet them without the spread. If you’re willing to take a chance on the run line, you can get the Yankees at -110.
As for the total, the number opened at 8 and it looks like it could be moving to 8.5 on quite a few books. It’s already there at some and the Over is heavily juiced in the places keeping it at 8.

Orioles vs Yankees betting preview
Starting pitchers
Bruce Zimmermann (1-0, 1.20 ERA): Zimmermann has been a true bright spot in a slow start to the year for the Orioles. The 27-year-old has allowed just two earned runs this season, despite pitching 15 innings for Baltimore thus far. The lefty has also struck out 12 batters over his last two starts, and he now faces a Yankees team that he shut out for five innings on April 17.
Jameson Taillon (1-1, 3.07 ERA): Taillon is off to a great start for the Yankees this season, as the righty has allowed only five earned runs in his 14 2-3 innings of work. After finishing last year with an ERA of 4.30, New York has to be feeling great about what he’s done so far. Taillon was a hefty acquisition for the Yankees, and they’re expecting big things after a mediocre 2021 season.

Orioles vs Yankees picks and predictions
Our side and total predictions are based upon our analysis of the line and total in this game. Our best bet is our favorite pick across all markets.
Run line analysis
The Yankees have been massive favorites in all the games in this series, making it hard to suggest backing them on the moneyline. With that said, New York has covered the 1.5-run spread in the previous two meetings. And if you’re not willing to take a large risk by backing the Yankees with a ton of ML juice, you might as well bank on them covering once again.
Zimmermann struck out six in five scoreless innings against the Yankees when these teams met in Baltimore on April 17, but he gave up four earned runs in only 3 2-3 innings in his only start at Yankee Stadium last year. The lefty also gave up two homers and nine hits in that outing, so he might not be too confident when he heads back to the Bronx in this one.
The Yankees are also fourth in the league in slugging percentage against lefties this season, and they have quite a few righties that will look forward to this matchup. DJ LeMahieu, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton are all going to be huge threats to come up big for New York — and spread bettors — in this game.
Taillon can also be counted on to give the Yankees a good chance to comfortably win this game. The 30-year-old gave up two earned runs in his last start against the Orioles, and he followed that one up with his best start of this young season. The righty also happened to be a lot better in Yankee Stadium than he was on the road last year, as he was 5-2 with a 3.26 ERA at home in 2021.
When you compare that to his 5.60 ERA in 14 road starts last season, it isn’t hard to envision Taillon finding a way to perform at a higher level in this game than he did in Camden Yards a few games back.
This is just a situation where you’re better off riding the hot team if you’re looking to take a side in this game. New York will be hoping to close this series out in style.
Prediction: Yankees -1.5 (-110 at WynnBET)
Over/Under analysis
These teams combined to score only seven runs on Wednesday, marking the end of a three-game Over streak for both of these ball clubs. They did, however, have chances to score more runs in that game, and it wouldn’t be surprising if they’re able to cash in on more of those chances in this afternoon affair.
At some point, Zimmermann is bound to cool down a bit on the mound, and that just might happen in this game. He struggled in his lone start in the Bronx last season, and he now has to try to block that out against a red-hot lineup full of dangerous righty bats. Taillon is also capable of giving up a few runs in this contest. He rarely ever completely shuts down an opponent.
Overall, it’s just a little hard to back the Under with the Yankees having scored an average of 8.0 runs over their last four contests. You would think this offense would be able to keep things up against an inexperienced pitcher, and it’s not like the Orioles have a bunch of slouches in the batter’s box. They might have scored only two runs on Wednesday, but Baltimore had scored at least five runs in each of its previous four games.
The Over is also 29-13 in the last 42 meetings between these two teams in New York.
Prediction: Over 8 (-120 at BetMGM)
Best bet
LeMahieu was hitless in the Yankees’ win on Wednesday, but he was on a 12-game hitting streak heading in. The infielder also had at least two hits in five of those 12 games, and there’s no reason to believe he isn’t capable of doing so again in this meeting with Baltimore.
Throughout his career, LeMahieu has terrorized left-handed pitching, as he is hitting .319 in 1,343 at-bats against southpaws. With that in mind, he should be looking forward to facing Zimmermann, who he is actually 4-for-6 against in their head-to-head history.
Of course, it’s a tough ask for anybody to go out and get at least two hits in a game, but the odds are certainly favorable. Not many players in the league are seeing the ball as well as LeMahieu is right now, and the 33-year-old will be hoping to stay hot with a big performance.
Pick: LeMahieu to record at least 2 hits (+160 at FanDuel)
