There’s afternoon baseball on the diamond, and all 30 teams are in play on Wednesday, April 16.
My top MLB player props have you covered throughout and begin with Milwaukee Brewers lefty Jose Quintana going up against the Detroit Tigers in the early wave before shifting to two more NL Central players later in the slate.

Jose Quintana Under 4.5 strikeouts (+120 at Caesars)
Milwaukee Brewers veteran Jose Quintana was brilliant in his 2025 debut with seven scoreless innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks to open in winning fashion. Still, the 36-year-old lefty only fanned two batters and pitched to contact with Diamondbacks hitters connecting on 94.3% of their swings.
The Detroit Tigers are definitely strikeout happy and have fanned at the ninth-highest rate against lefties (26.4%) to start the season, but Quintana doesn’t profile as a consistent, swing-and-miss hurler. Plus, he isn’t going to limit opposing hitters to a .182 batting average and .200 BABIP long term.
Kyle Tucker Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI (+105 at DraftKings)
Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker has cleared this benchmark in 13 of 20 games to start the season and sports an elite .398 wOBA, .397 on-base percentage, and .263 ISO against right-handed hurlers dating back to the 2023 campaign.
Additionally, Tucker has been held without a run or RBI through the first two games of this series. That changes this afternoon.
We’re landing a nice price on this prop because San Diego Padres righty Nick Pivetta has been solid to start the season. Still, his .214 BABIP, 6.3% HR/RB rate, and 87.3% strand rate are unsustainable, and the 33-year-old righty’s velocity is down across the board through three 2025 starts.
Nick Martinez Under 17.5 Outs Recorded (-105 at DraftKings)
The Seattle Mariners have traveled well this season and pace the majors in on-base percentage (.366) and sport a second-ranked .349 wOBA on the highway. They also have a solid .325 OBP against righties overall. A big part of the success has been an excellent walk rate (12.0% vs. RHP and 12.1% on the road).
As a result, hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park should be kind to the Seattle bats, and Cincinnati Reds righty Nick Martinez hasn’t been sharp with just 16 1/3 innings across his three starts. While there’s definite improvement coming because his 3.77 xFIP is far below his 6.06 ERA, both his hard-hit rate and barrel percentages are up from last year, too.
