It’s the first full week of baseball betting action after the All-Star break and the early week MLB schedule is full of intriguing matchups, which means there is no shortage of MLB prop bets.

Today, we look at two of the hottest hitters in baseball as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Toronto Blue Jays host the Boston Red Sox, while David Fletcher and the Los Angeles Angels visit the Oakland A’s.

We break down and pick these games and more with our best free MLB prop bets and predictions for Monday, July 19.

Today’s MLB props and picks

White Sox -0.5 Five-Inning Runline (-145)

The Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox will play a doubleheader at Guaranteed Rate Field today and, at least in Game 1, you can expect the Pale Hose to continue their dominance over their division rivals.

The White Sox have won 10 of 12 meetings against the Twins this season and hand the ball to All-star Lance Lynn in the opener. The right-hander has been one of the best starters in the big leagues this season, pitching to a 1.99 ERA, a 3.20 FIP, a 1.04 WHIP, and limiting opponents to a .189 batting average this season.

Lynn has also allowed just three earned runs on 11 hits in 17 innings of work over three starts against the Twins this season.

Countering Lynn is rookie Griffin Jax. The 26-year-old rookie has pitched in just five games this season and relies mostly on a four-seam fastball and a slider. Unfortunately, neither of those have been effective to this point as Jax has an 8.66 ERA and a 1.70 WHIP over those contests.

Now, he must deal with a White Sox team that ranks fourth in scoring and sixth in batting average and OPS. Bet the White Sox to have the lead through five.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases (-125)

Shohei Ohtani is still the betting favorite to win the American League MVP Award but the Toronto Blue Jays’ Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is coming up fast in his rearview mirror and — doesn’t look like he is letting up anything soon.

The All-Star first baseman picked up right where he left off after the All-Star break, going 3 for 9 over the weekend in helping the Jays sweep the Rangers. Oh, did we mention that all three hits were dingers! Vladdy will look to stay hot as the Jays open an important stretch where they will play the American League East-leading Red Sox 10 times over their next 20 games.

Guerrero heads into this matchup leading the MLB in batting average (.332), OPS (1.107), RBIs (78) and is second in home runs with 31. Now, he goes up against the Red Sox’s Nick Pivetta, who has come back down to Earth a bit after a hot start.

The right-hander’s ERA sits at 5.24 over his last six starts, and on top of that, the Blue Jays have had his number this season, scoring 11 runs on 13 hits over 10 innings. That includes Vladdy going 3 for 5 with a walk and a homer. Bet Vladdy to keep doing Vladdy things and take the Over on his total bases.

David Fletcher Over 1.5 Total Bases (+125)

While Sho-time featuring Shohei Ohtani has been getting all the hype for the Los Angeles Angels (and deservedly so), it has actually been second baseman David Fletcher who has been the Halos hottest hitter lately.

Fletcher just saw his 25-game hit streak come to an end Sunday night against Seattle. Regardless, since the start of the streak on June 13, Fletcher is hitting a ridiculous .434 with a 1.050 OPS and over his last nine games, those numbers jump up to .524 and 1.333. And now, with the streak over, the pressure is off Fletcher and he can start another streak tonight when the Angels visit the Oakland A's.

Fletcher will face lefty Cole Irvin for the opener and while he has been solid this season, opponents are hitting .275 off him over his last 10 starts. That means Fletcher will be a tough out, as he is hitting .369 against southpaws this season and is already 2 for 4 with a double and a walk against Irvin this year. Bet Fletcher to get back on track and take the Over on his total bases.

It’s not an interesting story. Seriously.
