Starting pitchers

Tyler Glasnow (5-2, 2.57 ERA): Glasnow is having a terrific season, pitching to a 0.93 WHIP and fanning 117 batters through 84 innings. The towering right-hander has been on the verge of stardom for years but injuries have often sidetracked him. He allowed one run over seven innings while striking out 11 batters in his last start, a 3-1 victory over the Nationals.

Lance Lynn (7-1, 1.23 ERA): Lynn put together a couple of strong years in 2019 and 2020 as a member of the Rangers but his game has reached new heights in the Windy City. The right-hander has a 0.88 WHIP with an opponent batting average of .171 in 11 starts with the White Sox and has allowed a total of just four earned runs in his last 41 innings pitched.

Moneyline pick

This should be an absolutely terrific matchup between the two teams with the best records in the MLB and they both happen to have their top pitchers on the mound tonight.

The Rays have won six of their last seven games and are 42-24 on the year, while the White Sox are also 6-1 in their last seven and have a record of 41-24.

Despite missing 2020 Silver Slugger Award winner Eloy Jimenez, the White Sox have been terrific at the plate, ranking fifth in the majors in both runs per game with 5.05 and OPS with .749.

Lance Lynn gets the start for Chicago tonight and he's been practically unhittable lately as in his last seven starts, he has an absurd 0.88 ERA with a 0.83 WHIP across 41 innings.

Although the Rays are middle of the pack in OPS (.711) they hit much better on the road, where they have an OPS of .738 and lead the majors with 5.97 runs per game. Tyler Glasnow will toe the rubber for Tampa Bay and he's having an outstanding year. pitching to a 2.57 ERA and 0.93 WHIP in 13 starts.

It's tough to find a betting edge in this matchup but if we have to nitpick, Glasnow's home/away splits show him pitching to 3.57 ERA in seven starts. We'll take that and side with Lynn and the insane run he's been on.

PREDICTION: White Sox (-109)

Over/Under pick

Both of these teams have been productive at the plate but it's worth mentioning that over the last 15 days the White Sox are a modest 15th in the majors with a batting average of .249 while the Rays are 19th in hitting at a .231 clip.

Going up against a pair of red-hot starters like Glasnow and Lynn will make me side with the arms every time.

Both bullpens have also been fantastic, with Rays relievers ranking third in the majors with an ERA of 3.08, while the White Sox aren't too far behind with an ERA of 3.58.

With the White Sox going 13-3-1 to the Under in their last 17 home games, we're going with the line movement and take the Under.

PREDICTION: Under 7 (+100)
