The Tampa Bay Rays are settling into their new temporary home, and they’ll look to continue their offensive onslaught tonight against the Boston Red Sox.
Tampa Bay jumped all over Tanner Houck last night on the way to a 16-1 win, improving to 8-5 at George M. Steinbrenner Field, and my Red Sox vs. Rays predictions expect the bats to show up again here to crank up the heat on a Boston team that’s slipped to 8-10.

Red Sox vs Rays prediction
My Red Sox vs Rays best bet: Rays team total Over 4.5 (-105 at Caesars)
The Tampa Bay Rays faced some nail-biters last week, with a pair of one-run ball games against the Angels, but it was a very different story yesterday as their hitters tucked into what amounted to batting practice in their series opener against the Boston Red Sox, surging into a 14-1 lead through three innings.
The Rays now rank third in the majors in batting average, and I’m wagering on their offense to get after Walker Buehler in tonight’s rematch and cash the Over on a 4.5-run team total.
This might sound like an overreaction to the fireworks last night, but while that power surge isn’t sustainable, it’s not as if the Rays had been struggling to put runs on the board before that.
They scored 18 runs in the weekend series against the Braves, and nine Tampa Bay players have already logged double-digit hits this year, led by Jonathan Aranda and Junior Caminero. The Rays are averaging 5.23 runs per game at home in 2025, the eighth-best mark in the league.
Buehler rebounded from two subpar outings to quieten the Blue Jays on Thursday, but there will be an adjustment to pitching at the unfamiliar George M. Steinbrenner Field.
Though Brandon Lowe is the only Tampa Bay hitter who’s gone head-to-head with Buehler previously, I trust the hosts’ deep lineup to figure him out, and they got an extra spark yesterday with Kameron Misner crushing a pair of dingers from the No. 6 spot.
The Rays have scored 5+ runs in four of their past six home contests, and this is a nice price for another productive day at the plate.
Red Sox vs Rays same-game parlay (SGP)
First baseman Yandy Diaz stands out among the hot Tampa Bay bats. After an underwhelming first few weeks by his high standards, he’s piled up nine hits in his last six games, including a second straight lead-off homer last night.
I’m also fading Ryan Pepiot's strikeout prop, despite his 3.38 ERA and 16 strikeouts through three starts. He finished with eight Ks in his season debut but only added another eight combined across his last two outings.
A line of 6.5 strikeouts feels too high for the fourth-year righty, who could hand things over to the bullpen before going through the Boston order a third time.
