This was supposed to be the year the Toronto Blue Jays took the next step and went on a deep postseason run. What's transpired through the first two months of the season is the complete opposite.
After striking out in the offseason with Shohei Ohtani, the Jays did very little to get better, and they've been paying the price. Core guys like Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. have been struggling and the latter appears to be the first piece the Blue Jays would look to move from their core.
While Vladdy is under contract with the Jays until 2025, the MLB odds suggest teams are lining up for a young, power hitter with another year of control.
I break down Vladimir Guerrero Jr's. next team odds below:

The market states "after the 2024 trade deadline" so it does not include next season or the upcoming offseason.

Favorites to be Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s next team
Toronto Blue Jays (-500)
There's pissing off your fan base and then there's trading away the face of the franchise.
For as bad as the Toronto Blue Jays have been at times this season, and for as much heat as upper management has taken (and much of it deserved), trading away Vladdy would be a monumental slap in the face to the city and its fan base.
While Vladdy may not be having a career year, he's still a young, elite player who can produce in the right situation. I don't see a "win-now" return for Vladdy in any trade, and the Jays can ill-afford to go into another rebuild.
Minnesota Twins (+800)
The Minnesota Twins make some sense for a Vladdy trade.
They have a couple of prospects that would be intriguing returns for the Blue Jays, and Vladdy would be a major upgrade over Carlos Santana, who is steadily declining with each passing game.
Santa doesn't walk, he doesn't get on base (.277 OBP), and he's not hitting for power or average.
The Twins would definitely relish a younger first baseman, but would the Jays keep him in the AL? That's the question.
New York Yankees (+800)
The New York Yankees should be dead last on the odds board for a Vladdy trade, but since they are the New York Yankees, you know they have to be sniffing around at a marquee name for the stretch run.
Right now, Anthony Rizzo occupies first base, and he's had a mediocre season at best. It's easy to see Vladdy donning the Pinstripes, but only because they can afford to pay him, not because the Jays would trade him to a team within the division.
At +800, there is no value here.

Seattle Mariners (+2,500)
The Seattle Mariners appear to be in "win-now" mode and it only makes sense for them to push some chips into the middle of the table come the MLB deadline.
They currently occupy first in the AL West and it's largely due to an elite pitching staff.
The offense could use some work though, and Vladdy would be a big upgrade over Ty France at first and Mitch Garver in the DH spot.
If the Blue Jays do trade Vladdy inside the AL, sending him West where they would only see him a handful of times makes the most sense.
