Yankees vs Dodgers props

Prop bet #1: Yoshinobu Yamamoto Over 3.5 hits allowed

-120 at DraftKings

Right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto takes the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 2, and he's gotten off to a tough start in his inaugural MLB postseason. The rookie possesses a 5.11 ERA and 1.22 WHIP through three playoff starts, and I am going to look to fade him in the hits market specifically.

While Yamamoto was tremendous in the regular season, it was more so because of his ability to limit runs. He struggled with limiting contact from opposing players, for example his .241 xBA. He also ranked in the 36th percentile in barrel rate and 27th percentile in hard-hit rate.

Dating back to the regular season, Yamamoto has given up four or more hits in six of his past seven starts.

Prop bet #2: Alex Verdugo Over 0.5 hits

-135 at bet365

The one thing Alex Verdugo did well at the plate during the regular season was make contact. He didn’t do much with that contact, but the outfielder finished the regular season in the top half of the league in xBA.

Verdugo also enters this game in solid form, recording 10 hits over his past 14 games. I think the only reason this line is only -136 is Verdugo is 0-for-3 in his career against Yamamoto.

With that said, he's due for positive regression within that sample size, as Verdugo generated a .254 xBA over that stretch.

Prop bet #3: Jazz Chisholm Over 0.5 hits

-145 at BetMGM

The other Yankees hitter to back on Saturday is Jazz Chisholm. In an opposite fashion than Verdugo, Chisholm has thrived against Yamamoto.

Through four career plate appearances against the righty, Chisholm boasts a .370 xBA and a home run. Now, similar to Verdugo, Chisholm enters this game in good form (in terms of contact) with five hits over his past five games.

Chisholm also saw an increase in production when facing RHP during the regular season, posting a .260 BA through 411 plate appearances when doing so.
