The Chicago Bulls are in the Mile High City tonight for a matchup with Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena.

Coby White has been lighting up the stat sheet since the Zach LaVine trade and I’ll explain why I expect him to continue his brilliance in my Bulls vs Nuggets predictions.

Read more in my NBA picks for Monday, March 24.

Bulls vs Nuggets prediction

My best bet: Coby White Over 24.5 points (-115 at bet365)

My analysis
When the Chicago Bulls traded Zach LaVine to the Sacramento Kings at the deadline, it opened up a clear opportunity for someone to step up and be the No. 1 option. Needless to say, that player has been Coby White. While he’s always been a solid scorer, his numbers have skyrocketed since the All-Star break.

The UNC product is averaging 25.6 points across his last 16 games. But, it doesn’t stop there. White is also averaging a mind-boggling 29.1 points in 11 March appearances. The guard has cashed the Over in points in five of his last seven outings and just erupted for 36 and 35 points in back-to-back games against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacramento Kings.

It hasn’t really mattered who he faces, either. He’s had some big performances against solid teams, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic, Indian Pacers, and the Lakers.

While White hasn’t faced the Denver Nuggets this season, they’re considered an easier matchup for shooting guards, allowing 23.5 PPG. They do not have a great perimeter defense and White will ball out again.

Bulls vs Nuggets same-game parlay

Coby White Over 24.5 points

Nikola Vucevic Over 16.5 points

Jamal Murray Over 2.5 threes

Nikola Vucevic has been struggling since the All-Star break, averaging only 15.6 PPG compared to his season average of 18.6. While he’s only hit the Over in points twice in his last eight contests, there’s reason to believe he’ll put together a respectable performance tonight.

The Nuggets will likely be without Nikola Jokic, who is doubtful with an ankle injury. That opens up a clear opportunity for Vooch to do his thing inside. DeAndre Jordan has been starting in place of The Joker and I don’t see him stopping Vucevic.

Jamal Murray just balled out for 39 points without Jokic in the lineup on Sunday, helping Denver grab an upset win over the Houston Rockets. He made it rain from long range, going 4-for-6. The point guard has also cashed the Over in triples in three of his last four games.

Murray is averaging 2.4 makes on 5.9 attempts from downtown for a 39.9% clip. He converts 2.6 treys at home compared to 2.2 on the road. The Bulls also struggle to defend the three against point guards, allowing 3.4 per contest. I expect the Canadian to find a rhythm from beyond the arc.
