DraftKings NBA Pick6 Picks for Today: Fantasy Basketball Lineup for April 9

The Magic can still improve their status ahead of the postseason, and Paolo Banchero will look to build on his recent run of superhuman play against a potentially shorthanded Celtics squad.

Another 10 games are on the schedule across the Association tonight, and I’ll include some of the usual suspects in my entries. I’m eyeing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to torch the Phoenix Suns, while Paolo Banchero should also keep up his hot streak as the Orlando Magic host the Boston Celtics.

DraftKings NBA Pick6 fantasy basketball lineup for April 9

Magic Paolo Banchero 27.5 points: MORE

Paolo Banchero has been playing out of his mind over the last six weeks. Since the beginning of March, he’s scored at least 30 points 10 times. The Orlando Magic star has also dropped more than 27.5 points in seven of his last 10 outings and just posted 33 in a win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday.

While the Magic are up against the defensively stout Boston Celtics tonight, it’s hard to not ride Banchero’s hot hand, especially if the C's rest key players with nothing left on the line. He’s as confident as can be, and I expect him to keep up his brilliance at home.

Lakers Luka Doncic 31.5 points: MORE

Luka Doncic returns to Dallas tonight for the first time since the blockbuster trade that shook the entire sports world. Doncic has scored less than 31.5 points in four of his last five appearances. He’s not exactly red hot right now, but I’m fully leaning into the revenge game narrative.

The Dallas Mavericks traded Luka out of nowhere, and he’s going to be hell-bent on proving Nico Harrison wrong for parting ways with him after literally just taking the franchise to the NBA Finals last summer. Plus, Dallas isn’t exactly an elite team nowadays. Doncic will have all the motivation he needs tonight.

Thunder Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 30.5 points: MORE

I know, Shai Gilegeous-Alexander again. Yawn, right? But how can I not include such a dominant force? The NBA MVP odds favorite continues to torch every opponent. He’s still averaging a league-best 32.7 points and has shown out for more than 30.5 points in two of his last four.

The OKC Thunder waxed the Lakers on Tuesday, and Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 42 points. OKC now faces the Phoenix Suns, and SGA is averaging 39 points per game against them across two appearances this season. With Kevin Durant still sidelined, another signature performance is in the cards.

Suns Devin Booker 6.5 assists: LESS

Devin Booker is the Suns’ best playmaker, averaging 7.0 assists per night. However, he’s dished out less than 6.5 dimes in five of his last six appearances and has finished with just seven assists combined across the last two against the Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks.

Phoenix is taking on the Thunder tonight, and they’re fourth in the league in fewest assists allowed. OKC prides itself on defense. Booker is only averaging 3.5 dimes against the Thunder in 2024-25 as well. He’ll have another quiet evening as a facilitator, especially as the scoring load has primarily fallen on his shoulders with KD out.

Mavericks Klay Thompson 2.5 threes: MORE

The Mavs may be having a nightmare season, but Klay Thompson is still shooting the ball extremely well. He’s averaging 3.0 makes on 7.7 attempts for a 39.4% clip from 3-point land. Klay has always been one of the best shooters around, and ‘24-25 is no exception.

The veteran has drained more than 2.5 triples in four of his last five games, finishing with a minimum of four made treys in three of those. He’s also averaging four 3-pointers against the Lakers this season.

Thunder Jalen Williams 19.5 points: MORE

Jalen Williams is having a phenomenal season for the title-chasing Thunder, averaging a career-best 21.4 PPG. The Santa Clara product continues to dominate lately as well, registering more than 19.5 points in four of his last five games. He just showed out for 26 in a win over the Lakers.

OKC is in the desert tonight, and Williams is scoring over 22 PPG on the road compared to 20.7 at home. The Suns are eliminated from playoff contention and already have a brutal defense. Williams should have no problems putting up solid numbers.
