On Friday, March 26, the Atlanta Hawks head to the Chase Center in San Francisco, California for a 10:00 p.m. ET NBA betting showdown with the Golden State Warriors. Unfortunately, Steph Curry’s injury means we won’t get to see him go against Trae Young, but this should still be an exciting game to watch.

The Warriors were embarrassed in a 141-119 loss to the Kings last night, and they now aim to end a three-game slide against the Hawks, who have looked like a different team under head coach Nate McMillan. Atlanta has lost each of its last two games, but the team had won its first eight games with McMillan calling the shots. And in his first 10 games with the team, the Hawks are ninth in the NBA in offensive rating and fifth in the league in defensive rating. The latter is the more significant number, as the Hawks are just 18th in the NBA in defensive rating on the year. He has them completely buying into his system, which makes this team dangerous moving forward.
With the Hawks' defense having been a bit better, they should be able to stop a Curry-less Warriors team. Golden State’s only scary option on the offensive end right now is Andrew Wiggins, who had 26 points in the Warriors' loss to the Kings on Thursday. And after missing Thursday’s game with an illness, Draymond Green is expected to be out there for Golden State, but he is nothing more than a facilitator offensively right now. And without the best shooter of all time to throw the ball too, there’s not a whole lot he can do to really harm Atlanta.
Where Green should make a big difference is on the defensive end. The Warriors let De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton combine for 65 points on Thursday. Green is too good of a help defender to let the Hawks guards decimate them like that. However, Atlanta has weapons all over the floor and should be too much for Golden State right now. Look for the team to target James Wiseman in pick-and-rolls situations here. That’s somewhere the Hawks can really do some damage.
PREDICTION: Hawks -6 (-110)
Over/Under pick
The Warriors' offense isn’t the same without Curry, so they’d likely struggle on a good night. However, they could run into a lot more trouble against a Hawks team that is committed to competing on the defensive end now. And while Atlanta has a lot of good offensive players, Golden State is sixth in the NBA in defensive rating.
Sure, the team was shredded without Green last night, but if he does end up playing in this one, the Under is the better side here. Keep an eye on the injury news.
PREDICTION: Under 220.0 (-110)
Player prop pick
If this game ends up going Under the total, one or both of these teams probably didn’t shoot very well from the floor. That would mean quite a lot of rebounding opportunities, which is where Clint Capela comes in.
Capela is leading the league in rebounds per game, averaging 14.2 on the season. He’s coming off a 17-rebound performance against Sacramento, and it would be surprising if he didn’t have a bunch tonight.
PREDICTION: Clint Capela Over 14.5 Rebounds (+107)
Hawks vs Warriors betting card
- Hawks -6 (-110)
- Under 220.0 (-110)
- Clint Capela Over 14.5 Rebounds (+107)
