In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to dive into the NBA Pick6 contest and share expert tips to boost your chances of taking home some cold hard cash!

What is NBA Pick6?

DraftKings' NBA Pick6 is a peer-to-peer fantasy contest where you build an entry with two or more NBA players, selecting whether each player will exceed or fall short of their listed stat projections. Your NBA picks are then entered into contests, competing against other users’ entries for a chance to win prizes.

Pick6 is available on both desktop and mobile web through pick6.draftkings.com. You can also play through the DraftKings Pick6 app, which is available for download in the Apple and Google Play stores.

How NBA Pick6 works

  • Visit the Pick6 main page and select two or more players for your entry. Each player has a specific stat projection for categories like points, rebounds, assists, points + rebounds + assists, and 3-pointers made.
  • Review the stat projections for the available players and select either More or Less for each player if you think they will exceed or fall short of the projection.
  • You must pick players from at least two different teams. Also, each player can only be selected once per entry. If you're selecting an NBA player for a stat like rebounds, you cannot select them again in the same set for points or another stat.
  • Once you've made your picks, select your entry fee amount. You can get started for as little as $1. Pick6 is lineup-based, so your entries will be automatically placed into available contests against other users who have entered a similar number of picks.
  • The more correct picks you make, the higher your chances of winning a share of the prize pool.

How NBA Pick6 scoring works

You earn points for each correct pick. A set of picks that gets a certain number of correct outcomes will rank higher in the contest, and the prize is awarded based on the number of correct picks.

Use the My Picks tab to track your picks and their results in real time as the NBA games play out. You can monitor how your players are performing against their projections and see where you stand in comparison to other users.

Prizes are awarded to players with the most correct picks, with payouts based on the contest structure. The more accurate your picks, the bigger your share of the prize pool.

NBA Pick6 strategies

Research team performance: Check recent team performances, NBA statistics, and any NBA injuries. Injuries, in particular, can drastically affect player performance or playing time.

Consult the experts: Check out our daily Pick6 column from Quinn Allen and view Jon Metler's daily Pick6 videos to get a leg up on the competition.

Understand stat projections: Pay attention to how likely it is for a player to hit their stat projection, considering factors like recent form, matchups, and playing time. Our Covers NBA prop projections page is a great place to begin your journey.

Analyze opponent defense: Study how well teams defend against particular positions. For example, if a team struggles against centers, you might target a physical big man playing against them.

Look for player roles: Focus on players who will see the court often or have increased opportunities due to injury or matchup advantages.

Think strategically: Think about contrarian strategies — predict outcomes that other Pick6 players may overlook. This could help you win bigger when you hit the right picks.
