Joel Embiid is expected to make his season debut, and the Philadelphia 76ers will look to earn back-to-back victories for the first time in 2024-25 as the New York Knicks visit on Tuesday, November 12 at Wells Fargo Center at 7:30 p.m. ET.
New York has gotten some stellar play from Josh Hart to open the campaign, and my Knicks vs. 76ers predictions expect him to continue piling up the stats to potentially thwart Embiid's arrival.
Read my NBA picks to see why you should take the Over on Hart’s combo prop tonight.
Knicks vs 76ers prediction
My best bet
Josh Hart Over 25.5 points + rebounds + assists (-105 at bet365)
My analysis
This one is a clear no-brainer, as New York Knicks SG Josh Hart is enjoying arguably the best statistical season of his career. He’s averaging 13.8 points, nine rebounds, and 5.1 assists through nine games. The rebounds and assists are career highs, while the points represent the second-highest average of his career.
Hart is averaging 27.9 PRAs and has hit the Over in seven of nine games. Hart has always been an elite rebounder for his size, but he’s been even better since arriving in New York. Hart pulled down a career-high 8.3 rebounds last season, and he’s on track to best that this season thanks to numerous frontcourt injuries.
Hart is operating as a Swiss Army knife for the Knicks yet again, as he has scored in double figures in every game and dished at least six dimes in five of his last six.
Tom Thibodeau is running his starters into the ground as usual, and Hart is playing a career-high 36.7 minutes. He’s shooting a blistering 57.3% from the floor and 84% from the charity stripe, so I’ll take the Over once again.
The odds on this prop are an appealing -105 despite Hart hitting the Over in 77.8% of his appearances this season.
Knicks vs 76ers same-game parlay
These teams have hit the Under in six of their last 10 head-to-head matchups, including all four in the 2023-24 regular season. However, the teams hit the Over in four of six playoff games, and I’m betting on the Over hitting again tonight.
Neither team has excelled on either end of the floor this season, and both have hit the Over in five of nine. Digging deeper into the numbers, each team has hit Over 217 in six of nine, good for a combined 12/18, or 66.7%.
Joel Embiid's return should mean an improvement on offense for the Philadelphia 76ers, and New York’s cavalcade of 3-point specialists should succeed against Philly’s soft perimeter defense.
OG Anunoby’s 3-pointer prop isn’t one I’d take straight up, as the odds sit at an unfavorable -150. The odds are short because Anunoby's averaging 2.2 triples per game and has knocked down at least three in five of his last six. Across those six games, he averaged three triples and logged a healthy 36.5 minutes.
Philadelphia has allowed the third-highest 3-point percentage to opponents, and I fully expect Anunoby to cash the Over.
