The 2024-25 NBA season is in full swing and with every team having played, we have an idea of what role players will have.
I'm betting on Zach LaVine to settle into his role as the No. 1 scorer in Chicago, while my NBA picks are also backing centers Walker Kessler and Anthony Davis. Here are my three best NBA player props for Friday, October 25.
Best NBA player props today
- LaVine o20.5 points (-115 at bet365)
- Kessler o8.5 rebounds (-120 at DraftKings)
- Davis o38.5 points + rebounds (-120 at FanDuel)

NBA player props for October 25
Prop bet #1: Zach LaVine Over 20.5 points
Zach LaVine and the Chicago Bulls make the short trip to Fiserv Forum to face the Milwaukee Bucks. LaVine averaged a modest 19.5 points per game during an injury-plagued 2023-24 season but he had averaged more than 24 ppg in each of his previous four years. He looks healthy to start this year and should see his shot attempts tick up after the departure of DeMar DeRozan.
LaVine dropped 27 points on 10 of 17 shooting in Chicago's season opener while going 5-for-8 from long range. He won't be able to sustain that red-hot outside shooting but he should get to the line more often. He had just three free throw attempts but averaged 5.5 FTA per game over the last six years.
The Bucks are coming off a game where they held the 76ers to just 109 points but Philly was missing Joel Embiid and Paul George. Milwaukee is tough to attack inside with Brook Lopez and Giannis Antetokounmpo but is vulnerable in the backcourt with Damian Lillard and Gary Trent Jr. matching up against opposing guards.
Prop bet #2: Walker Kessler Over 8.5 rebounds
Walker Kessler averaged 8.0 rebounds per game over his first two seasons in the league despite logging a modest 23.2 minutes per game. He's expected to play a bigger role in his third year and we saw that on Wednesday when he scored 16 points and pulled down 14 boards in 30 minutes against the Grizzlies.
Tonight, Kessler and the Utah Jazz host a Golden State Warriors team that plays at a fast pace and has a small front court with 6-foot-9 sophomore Trayce Jackson-Davis starting at center.
The Warriors could also be without superstar guard Stephen Curry and veteran big man Draymond Green, who are listed as questionable. Curry is a highly-efficient shooter and there will be a lot more missed shots if he sits out, while Green led the team with 7.2 rpg last year.
If either of those vets are unable to suit up, Kessler would be even more likely to eclipse his rebounds total.
Prop bet #3: Anthony Davis Over 38.5 points + rebounds
The Phoenix Suns were torched inside in their season opener against the Clippers, surrendering 62 points in the paint and getting outrebounded 51-42. Considering they gave up 21 points and nine rebounds to Ivica Zubac, they should be terrified to face Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis tonight.
Davis is one of the best big men in the NBA and he looks like he's on a mission this year after a huge two-way performance against the Timberwolves on Tuesday. Davis went 11-for-23 with 36 points while adding 16 boards against reigning Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert.
Not only are the T-Wolves better defensively than Phoenix, but they also play at a slow tempo, while the Suns prefer a faster pace. Expect Davis to have his way against big but immobile Suns center Jusuf Nurkic.
