This season has featured one of the weaker rookie classes in recent history. However, a late surge from the top two picks in last year's draft has me backing them in their NBA player props for today.

See why my NBA picks are betting on Alex Sarr and Zaccharie Risacher, along with Cavs forward Jarrett Allen on Thursday, March 27

NBA player props for March 27

Alex Sarr Over 17.5 points (-115 at bet365)

While it might be too late to make a case for the Rookie of the Year Award, Wizards' center Alexandre Sarr is starting to show why he received so much hype as a prospect.

The raw 7-footer was inconsistent at the start of the season but has surged down the stretch. He had a 24-point performance against the 76ers last night and has averaged 18.1 ppg over the last 12 games.

With Washington at the bottom of the standings and lacking scoring options, the path is clear for Sarr to have an increased role. The Wiz traded away second-leading scorer Kyle Kuzma in February, and recently shut down Corey Kispert and Bilal Coulibaly, leading to more shots for Sarr.

Today, Sarr matches up against an Indiana Pacers squad that plays at a Top-10 pace and sits near the middle of the pack in defensive rating. The Pacers have struggled against opposing centers, allowing 21.7 ppg and the third-highest field goal percentage (58.9%) to the position.

With Sarr scoring at least 19 points in six of his last eight games, take the Over 17.5 on his points.

Zaccharie Risacher Over 13.5 points (-115 at bet365)

Atlanta Hawks wing Zaccharie Risacher has also stepped up this month and is coming off an 18-point performance against Houston on Tuesday. The first pick overall in last year's draft has benefitted from a change in his role following the trade of De'Andre Hunter and a season-ending injury to Jalen Johnson.

The O/U on Risacher's points is set at 13.5 today, and he's eclipsed that in each of his last six games while averaging 17.7 ppg over that span.

Risacher doesn't have the easiest matchup today against the Miami Heat who play at a sluggish tempo. However, Miami a modest 15th in the league in defensive rating since the start of the New Year. That's not good enough to scare me away from betting on Risacher.

Jarrett Allen Over 10.5 rebounds (-115 at bet365)

Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen is averaging 10.0 rebounds per game — the 11th-best mark in the NBA. The veteran big man should dominate the boards tonight against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Spurs have been getting destroyed on the glass since losing superstar center Victor Wembanyama and his backup Charles Bassey to injuries. The Spurs are 27th in the league in rebounding rate (47%) since the start of February and have also been playing at a Top-10 pace over that span.

It's been a while since Allen hit the 10-rebound mark, but he's been sharing boards with teammate Evan Mobley, who is a double-double machine. With the Cavs giving Mobley a rest day tonight, Allen should see his numbers ramp up.
