The treads have been coming off the tank for the Toronto Raptors, who have won too many games lately.

This West Coast road trip has helped them get back on track with back-to-back losses, and now they're massive 14.5-point road underdogs against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors, who have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA.

Fear not Raps fans, my Raptors vs. Warriors predictions have NBA picks to make this lopsided-looking game worth tuning in to.

Raptors vs Warriors prediction

My Raptors pick: Scottie Barnes Over 6.5 Rebounds (+120 at PointsBet Canada)

My analysis
The Toronto Raptors were winning way too many basketball games for a team that needs to be focused on getting a good draft pick.

It wasn’t for a lack of trying. Weird lineup combinations at the end of games and guys popping on and off the injury report. It didn't matter; the vibes on this team are too good somehow, and Toronto managed to go 15-12 over a 27-game stretch.

This West Coast road trip with matchups against teams trying to win games has halted that success. The Raptors have dropped back-to-back games to the Trail Blazers and Suns, averaging just 95.5 points.

Now, they’ll take on one of the hottest teams in the NBA — the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors look like a completely different team with Jimmy Butler and are 13-2 straight up in their last 15 games. The only team they trail in net rating over that span is the OKC Thunder.

The bright side for the Raptors is that Scottie Barnes should play most of the games down the stretch as he tries to remain eligible for All-NBA teams. I like him to improve his case by putting some work in on the glass tonight.

He's averaging 7.8 rebounds per game this season, but his rebounding prop is set at a modest 6.5 for this matchup, with the Over priced at a nice +120. Barnes has upped that average to 8.6 over the last seven games, where he's hauled down 7+ boards four times.

And while the Warriors have been playing well, they’ve been good-not-great on the boards, ranking 11th in rebounding rate and 10th in opponent rebounds per game over this 15-game period. Plus, the Dubs don’t give a ton of minutes to traditional bigs, so the 6-foot-7 Barnes should have an impact on the glass tonight.

Raptors vs Warriors same-game parlay

Scottie Barnes Over 6.5 rebounds

Immanuel Quickley Over 4.5 assists

Jamal Shead Over 7.5 points

If the Raptors want to keep this game close (or at least within the 14.5-point spread), they’ll have to move the ball well against this Warriors defense.

That has me looking at Immanuel Quickley’s assist prop. IQ is back in action (at least for tonight) and is averaging 5.5 assists per game this season. He has dished out 5+ dimes eight times in his last 11 games, including the last four in a row.

The only thing with Barnes and Quickley is that they may get pulled late in this game, either because it's a blowout or too close.

Someone who should see plenty of minutes is rookie Jamal Shead. Shead is coming off a tough night against the Suns but is averaging 8.4 points over his last nine games, scoring 8+ seven times. His point total for this one is sitting at 7.5.

Raptors vs Warriors spread and Over/Under analysis

  • The Raptors opened this game as 14-point road underdogs, with the spread moving slightly in the Warriors' favor now sitting at 14.5.|

  • The Raptors have been a great bet all season long at 41-27-1 ATS but have struggled as big dogs, going just 9-12 ATS when getting double-digits this season.

  • The total hit the board at 226.5 and has been bet down slightly to 225.5 as of Thursday afternoon.

  • This Raptors offense has dried up the last few games and that should continue tonight against a Warriors team that leads the NBA in defensive rating over the last 15 games. The Raptors have gone Under the total in back-to-back games with similar closing numbers.

He began at Covers as a news editor and has now done everything under the sun when it comes to content. His work has been seen on TSN, Sportsnet, VSiN, and CBS.

These days Andrew’s betting expertise is focused on his favorite teams – the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Raptors. He’s also an avid college football fan and bettor. You can also call him Covers’ Sixth Man, as he regularly steps up to guest host Before You Bet and our MLB and NCAAF release shows.

The sportsbook where he does the bulk of his betting is bet365 thanks to its numerous prop betting options and competitive odds. His best advice? Find the balance between the numbers and what you see on the playing field. Then find the best price using multiple books. And don’t ask him where the nickname Taco comes from. It’s not an interesting story. Seriously.
