Two Eastern Conference rivals trending in the right direction will meet tonight at Barclays Center when the Washington Wizards face the Brooklyn Nets.
Tonight’s matchup should be a fast and loose one, and my Wizards vs. Nets predictions anticipate the more rapid pace should fuel a few assists for Washington forward Kyle Kuzma.

My analysis
Tonight’s matchup between the Washington Wizards and Brooklyn Nets could be intriguing.
The Wizards have won two straight; they play fast and loose, and their pace will force the Nets to play faster, which benefits players like Kyle Kuzma.
The Nets may not allow many points (112), but only a handful of NBA teams allow more assists per game than Brooklyn does at home (27).
Tonight’s clash is expected to be close. Kuzma typically averages 30+ minutes in games where Washington has a chance at winning, so I believe he'll get enough minutes to clear his total.
Brooklyn doesn’t always defend well. It allows 48% shooting from the field and 37% from downtown, so Kuzma’s mates will have the opportunity to raise the Flint, Michigan native's assist total.
Kuzma averages 2.5 dimes per game and has dished out 3+ dimes in nine of his past 14 games. Brooklyn allows 27 dimes per night at Barclays Center, and I’m betting Kuzma clears three assists tonight.

I like Kuzma and Jordan Poole offensively, but Brooklyn struggles to score and relies on its defense to win games. Poole is having a career year from downtown. He drains 39% of his nearly 10 3-point attempts per game. The Wizards guard has made 3+ triples in 10 of his past 12 games and faces a Brooklyn defense that allows 13 triples per night.
While I like Poole to do what he typically does, I don’t believe the faster pace or a nice night from downtown from the Wizards guard turns this contest into a high-scoring affair.
Brooklyn scores the fewest points per home game (102) while surrendering 111 and is 14-8 to the Under. Washington's road games are 13-11 to the Under, and these teams have ended Under in six of their last 10 meetings.
