Talk about home-court advantage for George Mason. The Patriots are a host gym for the NIT, and they’ll be riding a 16-game home win streak at EagleBank Arena when they take on the Bradley Braves in Round 2
That must factor into the books setting the Patriots as 6-point favorites in the college basketball odds. However, our Bradley vs. George Mason predictions and college basketball picks are eyeing the tantalizingly low total, and we likely can’t turn away from that wager.
Who will win Bradley vs George Mason?
You have to go back to November 13 to find the last time the George Mason Patriots got dropped at home, a close 70-69 defeat at the hands of Central Michigan, which happened to be just their third home game of the 2025 season.
Since then, George Mason has been unbeatable at home and has the best home record of any team at the NIT. The Bradley Braves have been playing well, taking wins in six of its last seven games and a pretty good 8-3 record away from home on the year.
George Mason isn’t exactly a great spread pick at home, going 9-10 against the spread this year, but straight up, they’re my pick to advance in this matchup.
Bradley vs George Mason prediction
My best bet: Over 132.5 (-110 at bet365)
It’s been a good bounce back for Bradley, as they got past North Alabama 71-62 to open the NIT on Wednesday. The Braves were fresh off a Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Final loss to Drake, missing out on the NCAA Tournament in a tough 63-48 loss — by far their lowest scoring output of the season.
Bradley gets it done on both sides of the court; they were the only team in the MVC this year to rank Top 3 in both scoring (76.7 points — 3rd) and points allowed (68.6 — 3rd).
Darius Hannah came off the bench and paced the Braves against North Alabama with 17 points and six rebounds, as the Braves limited the Lions to 34.5% shooting from the field, including a rough 4-for-15 from distance —a 26.7% clip — while forcing 15 turnovers.
Defense is also George Mason’s calling card, as it ranked second in the Atlantic 10 in points per game allowed, allowing 63.5 points. That’s strong enough to lift a scoring unit that’s 12th in the conference at 71.3 points per game.
The Patriots were out of their comfort zone against Samford in Round 1 at the NIT, winning 86-69, a point total they hadn’t hit since late November. It’s encouraging they went toe-to-toe offensively with the Bulldogs, shooting 50% from the field and 37% from 3-point range. They also benefited from turning Samford over 18 times for 24 points.
I think the books are predicting a rockfight, but recent play indicates a little more offensive potency than they’ve accounted for. Aside from that loss to Drake, Bradley has hit the 70-point plateau in six of the last seven games.
Putting away GMU’s 68-63 loss to VCU in the A10 Tournament, the Patriots have scored 69+ points in four of their last five. They’ve also cashed the Over in four straight games. There should be plenty of clearance on Saturday when the total is at a low 132.5.
Bradley vs George Mason same-game parlay (SGP)
We’re taking Bradley to cover because the Patriots may have all those home wins, but plenty have been close. In the GMU’s last 10 home games, six were decided by seven points or fewer.
While the Patriots have been slow starters lately, they’ve been putting up points in the first 20 minutes, scoring 33+ points in two of the last three, including a whopping 45 against Samford.
In the last seven games, Bradley has had their opponent top this line three times, with two other games where the opposition was within four points of the mark.
