Boise State opened as short as -4.5 and that spread has been run up to a high of -8 at some books. The Broncos’ outright odds give them an implied win probability of almost 76%, so we’ll punch their ticket to the CBC semis.

The Boise State Broncos stumbled out of the blocks against George Washington to tip off the College Basketball Crown, scoring only three points in the first eight minutes.
The offensive lull was to be expected, considering BSU last played on March 15. But once Boise State ran off the rust, the offense ignited. The Broncos dropped 86 points in the remaining 32 minutes, including a 57-point second half.
Finding that same offensive flow shouldn’t be too tough against the Butler Bulldogs, who are among the softest defenses in the tournament and don’t do anything particularly well on that end of the floor.
They rank 331st in opponent made field goals, 249th protecting the rim (according to ShotQualityBets), and 337th in points in the paint allowed (36.2 PITP). The Bulldogs don’t push back much at all, rating low in game-changing plays like steals, blocks, and forced turnovers.
Butler’s opening game against Utah was very much an up-and-down game, with the Bulldogs winning 86-84 while watching the Utes collect 38 points in the paint and hit 10 3-pointers. The Broncos posted 52 PITP and knocked down nine triples versus GW.
The Bulldogs can fill it up on the offensive end, rated No. 42 in offensive efficiency, and are more than happy getting into a shootout. With the defense in these other “postseason” events already in question, there could be plenty of fireworks on the floor at the MGM Grand tonight.
