Who will win DePaul vs Creighton?
The Bluejays have too much talent, and DePaul has absolutely no answers for Ryan Kalkbrenner, one of the biggest matchup problems in the Big East.
I’m taking Creighton to win this one and move on to the semifinals.

My best bet: DePaul +12.5 (-110 at bet365)
The question here isn’t really whether Creighton will win or not, but how big the gap will be.
Even if the Blue Demons are outclassed by the Bluejays, it’s worth looking at how DePaul has played as of late. It has won its last three games outright and covered in four straight, a streak that began with a 75-65 loss to Creighton on the road when DePaul was a 16-point underdog.
Looking at that game could be instructive for bettors. While Ryan Kalkbrenner predictably went off for 25 points and 13 rebounds, only one other Creighton player — Steven Ashworth, who scored 16 points — reached double figures. DePaul held Creighton to just 9-of-27 shooting from deep, which helped prevent the score from getting out of control, while the Blue Demons shot 44.6% from the floor themselves.
Those numbers hint at two reasons why DePaul can at least be competitive in this matchup. Creighton outplays most mediocre teams on both sides of the court, holding opponents to 40.7% shooting from the floor and an average of 69.0 ppg. Earlier in the year, that would have been an insurmountable obstacle for the Blue Demons.
But down the stretch, DePaul has been notably better offensively, averaging 74.8 ppg in this recent four-game stretch. And if the Blue Demons once again structure the game so that Kalkbrenner has to be the one to beat them — and make no mistake, he will — then that should at least keep the game close.
