Spread analysis

The Blue Devils lost in overtime to the Noles on January 18, but since then have reeled off eight wins in their last nine games — most recently edging Wake Forest by two points at home. The Seminoles are also coming off a slim home victory, defeating Clemson by a single point, but prior to that had gone 0-6 SU and ATS in their previous six contests.

This will likely look like a far different squad than the one that upset the Blue Devils in January. Starting forward Malik Osborne, starting guard Anthony Polite, and center Naheem McLeod are all out of action for at least a month. In addition, leading scorer Caleb Mills and another starting guard in Raequan Evans are both listed as questionable tonight.

That'll put a lot of the offensive burden on freshman Matthew Cleveland and Florida State's questionable depth will be tested as well.

Duke is the No. 9 ranked team in the country for good reason, excelling on both ends of the course. The Blue Devils rank 11th in the country in adjusted offensive efficiency while sitting 19th in adjusted defensive efficiency.

With the Blue Devils still smarting from their loss in Tallahassee in January, look for them to put the boots to a short-handed Seminoles squad and back them on the spread.

Prediction: Duke -15 (-110)

Over/Under analysis

Despite missing several starters, the Seminoles have played well on offense lately. They scored 81 points in their previous game against Clemson and dropped 74 points in a fast-paced shootout loss to UNC last week where they also allowed 94 points.

They've missed Osborne and Polite more on the defensive end of the floor, where the Noles have surrendered at least 75 points in five of their last seven games. Now, the Noles face off against a Duke team that averages 79.8 ppg, with that number surging up 82.4 ppg at home.

Duke has four players scoring in double digits, led by Paolo Banchero and his 16.9 ppg, and its ability to score from anywhere on the floor should be tough for FSU to limit. With the Blue Devils going 4-1 O/U in their last five games, take the Over tonight.

Prediction: Over 142 (-110)

Best bet

The Seminoles are extremely beat up in this one but it's still a bit tough swallowing so much chalk with a Duke team that is just 2-5 ATS in its last seven games at home.

The Blue Devils are almost always the most talented squad on the floor but they have struggled with focus at times. That said, they should be locked in tonight after losing to the Seminoles last month and almost falling to Wake Forest on Tuesday.

The Blue Devils actually had a nine-point lead in the first half against the Demon Deacons before almost falling apart in the second. They have typically gotten off to fast starts this season, boasting an average first-half scoring margin of plus-9 ppg.

The Seminoles have struggled in the first half lately. They came back to beat Clemson but trailed by four points after 20 minutes. They were down a whopping 38 points in the first half against UNC last week and scored fewer than 22 points in each of their previous first halves (versus Wake and Pittsburgh) at the beginning of the month. Back the Blue Devils on the first-half spread.

Pick: Duke first half -8.5 (-110)
