LSU vs UCLA Prediction, Picks & Odds for Today’s Women’s March Madness Elite 8 Game

The No. 3 LSU Tigers' defense won't be able to contain Lauren Betts, and that's the key to a No. 1 UCLA Bruins victory in this Spokane Regional Elite 8 game, per our women's March Madness betting picks.

Buckle up for what should be a fantastic Spokane Regional Elite Eight matchup when the LSU Tigers meet the UCLA Bruins.

UCLA center Lauren Betts has dominated the tourney thus far, and my LSU vs. UCLA predictions expect a comfortable victory for Betts & Co.

Read on for my Women’s March Madness picks for Sunday, March 30.

Who will win LSU vs UCLA?

UCLA All-American center Lauren Betts has back-to-back 30+ scoring games, and it’ll be difficult for LSU to stop her from dominating them in the paint.

LSU will put up a fight. They have an exciting, fast-paced offense but are up against a strong Bruins stop unit and an even stronger rebounding side.

UCLA has two losses on the season. Both were to top-seed USC. LSU has injury concerns and likely won’t play to their full capabilities today, which should result in a comfortable UCLA victory.

LSU vs UCLA prediction

My best bet: UCLA -5 (-110 at bet365)

UCLA Bruins center Lauren Betts is “her.”

The All-American junior center has been dominant during the Bruins' postseason run. Betts scored 30+ points for the second consecutive tourney game, and her size and agility make her tough to stop.

Betts has secured 35 rebounds and blocked a dozen shots through the Bruins’ March Madness tournament games, and the LSU Tigers are in trouble.

UCLA is more than just Betts.

Three other Bruins average at least five rebounds, and Kiki Rice is a tremendous floor leader who knows if she feeds Betts the ball, two things generally happen; Betts scores and/or is sent to the charity stripe.

Betts and the Bruins are terrific rebounders, which will become problematic for the undersized Tigers.

LSU forward Aneesah Morrow snagged nearly 200 offensive caroms this season. The O-Boards helped fuel her team-leading 18 ppg, but she won’t enjoy the same opportunities against UCLA today.

LSU-point guard Flau’Jae Johnson didn’t return late in the fourth quarter from an eye injury, and if she’s limited in any way, LSU won’t beat UCLA.

UCLA is the better squad on both ends of the floor. Betts should dominate both ends of the floor and win this game comfortably.

SGP requirements don’t allow us to use our best bet, but the rule works to our advantage.

UCLA to win straight-up? Sign me up. I expect the Bruins to cover the number, and I’ll add UCLA to win the first half.

Look for Rice to get Betts involved early. When they do, Betts either scores or gets fouled.

The LSU bigs could wind up watching much of the first half from the bench, leading to UCLA winning the first half.

The Tigers will push the pace; when they do, they get buckets. They are a good offensive team, and scoring 68 points is possible, especially if Johnson is available.
