I have yet to see many teams slow down Marquette's scoring. A Creighton defense that I'd consider slightly above average is not equipped to do that. Additionally, my projections make this total 152.5. The Over tonight will be my best bet.

The story of this game will be about how Creighton defends Marquette, and I expect Marquette to win several of those battles. 

The Golden Eagles' offense is humming along to the tune of 1.1 points per possession (10th in the nation) and boasts the highest effective field goal percentage in college basketball. In the first game between these two schools, Marquette scored 69 points despite missing several open threes. The total easily went Under, but that was primarily because of what Creighton did rather than Marquette. 

The other side of the ball's handicap is built on some obvious things. 

Creighton wasn't healthy and was really struggling the first time these two met. That factored significantly into it scoring just 58 points. It would be utterly shocking to see something similar unfold. 

Marquette could be a better defensive team. It allows an eFG of over 50% from the field, which places it in the 250s nationally, but more relevant to this matchup?

It’s regularly abused at the rim. It's hard to imagine one of the best-scoring big men in the Big East, Ryan Kalkbrenner, not taking advantage of that.

I lean toward the value of Marquette to steal this one.

Head coach Shaka Smart's record as an underdog is tough to ignore, and my projections make this game a virtual toss-up. However, this spot for both teams won't allow me to do that. 

Creighton is playing exceptionally well. I cannot ignore that. Also, Marquette has played pretty poorly lately, although it isn't necessarily shown in the win/loss column. Simply, it's hard to fade the team playing much better than the other.

I won't have a side here, but if I were to play this game, I'd take a shot on Marquette moneyline because of its value. 

Creighton is 1-4 ATS in its last five games following an ATS win, which would lead you toward Marquette's spread, however, only so many teams will be able to score on Creighton with the effectiveness that Marquette can. Because of that, if it covers the spread, it also wins outright.
