The Boston College Eagles are the story of the ACC Tournament thus far, as they upset the Wake Forest Demon Deacons after beating the Pittsburgh Panthers by 20 points in the first round. The team will now be hoping to ride its momentum to a win over the Miami Hurricanes, who are the fourth-seeded team in the tournament.

Spread analysis
Boston College is on an amazing run in this ACC Tournament, as the team won its first game and then surprised the world with an overtime victory over Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons really needed a win in that game in order to be a part of March Madness, and that only makes the win for the Eagles even more impressive. Wake Forest played with a real sense of urgency, but still wasn’t able to get it done.
The only issue for the Eagles is that they’ve now expended a lot of energy in the past few days. Not only have they played in back-to-back days, but last night’s game went to overtime. That will take a lot out of this group against a fresh Miami squad.
One of the reasons the Eagles have been able to win these games is that their guards and wings have been playing at a high level. That, however, won’t be an advantage that they’ll have over the Hurricanes.
Miami veteran point guard Charlie Moore knows what it takes to win big games. He manages the floor to perfection, and he is flanked by Kameron McGusty, Isaiah Wong and Jordan Miller, who are all legitimate offensive weapons. McGusty is a next-level scorer for the college level, and Wong isn’t much worse. Both guys should be able to take advantage of Boston College’s tired legs.
Miami just needs a big man to really step up and play a good game in order to easily take care of Boston College here. Sam Waardenburg could be the one to do the honors, and his ability to space the floor is going to be big against the Eagles here. Before having only three points against the Syracuse Orange last game, Waardenburg had double digits in three straight.
Prediction: Miami -7.5 (-110)
Over/Under analysis
Had it not been for overtime, both of Boston College’s games in this tournament would have gone Under the total. The Eagles and Panthers scored only 112 points in their first-round game, and the match against the Demon Deacons wasn’t as high-scoring as expected until it was pushed above the number by extra time.
Now, Boston College has to deal with playing with tired legs, which should give a weak Hurricanes defense some hope that it will be able to get stops when it needs to.
The Under is actually 8-2 when Miami is coming off of a win in its last game, and it’s also 8-2 when the team is coming off of a cover. Overall, this is just a spot in which Miami should be ready to go on the defensive end.
While its opponent in this one is running on fumes, the Hurricanes had extra time to scout a team they just beat. Hurricanes head coach Jim Larranaga, who just signed a contract extension, will have his team ready to go.
Prediction: Under 139 (-110)
Best bet
Miami beat Boston College by 11 on March 2, when the Hurricanes were 4-point road favorites. The team really didn’t have much trouble in that victory, as the offense was in cruise control all game. Miami shot 56.4% from the floor and 47.6% from deep in that one, and the Boston College defense just had no idea what to do.
Perhaps the Eagles will be feeling more confident in this one because of what’s taken place in Brooklyn thus far, but that should run out eventually. Look for this to be a close game in the first half, but Miami should eventually pull away and get the job done.
It should be noted that Miami has handled its business against inferior opponents recently. The Hurricanes are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games against teams with losing records. They’re also facing an Eagles team that is 8-18 ATS in its last 26 games following a game in which it covered.
