Richmond’s run in the A-10 just proves how valuable seniors are to a program. Richmond had high expectations coming into this season and is now finally showing just how good it can be. 

The Spiders are shooting 33.8% from deep and 52.3% from inside the arc while limiting turnovers to 14.4%.

Davidson is holding teams to 33.9% from three and 48.4% from inside the arc. Plus, the Wildcats are keeping teams off the line at an above-average rate.

On the offensive end, however, Davidson is one of the best teams in the nation. The Wildcats are shooting 38.6% from deep and 54.5% from inside the arc.

Even at the foul line, Davidson is hitting over 75%. However, just like Richmond, Davidson isn’t really worried about crashing the glass on the offensive end, earning just 24.1% offensive rebounds. 

Richmond, analytically, is the better defense. The Spiders limit fouling better than Davidson and earn 19.3% turnovers.

For both teams, turnovers will be hard to come by, but Davidson might cough up a couple more than Richmond, which could make a huge difference in what should be a tight game.

Therefore, if Richmond wants to win this game, the Spiders are going to have to score bucket-for-bucket against Davidson.

Richmond will need a great shooting night to keep pace, but the Spiders have always found a way as we've seen in the A-10 tournament and are averaging north of 72 points per game on the season.

If the Spiders win or cover, the total is going to go Over.

Best bet

Richmond took on Davidson once in the regular season and lost to the Wildcats, 87-84, at home. The offense was elite but the defense didn’t get many stops. 

This is what I’m expecting today. The defense won’t be unbelievable on both sides but for Richmond, it’ll be good enough to stick around in this game.

The emphasis will have to be on 3-point shooting. If Richmond can get stops around the perimeter and rebound off those misses, the Spiders will be in great shape to win an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. 

And when the Spiders make it to the Big Dance, the 20+ win team won’t be an easy out.
