Tennessee vs LSU Prediction, Picks & Odds for Today's Women’s College Basketball Game

Taking down LSU at home is no easy feat, and although Vols are scrappy, the Tigers will outmatch them.

Get set for an exciting SEC Women’s Basketball matchup when the No. 17 Tennessee Lady Volunteers head to Baton Rouge for a matchup with the LSU Lady Tigers.

LSU is undefeated at home, and my Tennessee vs. LSU predictions expect the Lady Tigers to sneak past a pesky Tennessee squad coming off a home upset over UConn.

Read on for my college basketball picks for Sunday, February 9.

My analysis
The LSU Tigers have their only home-and-home series in SEC play, and it's a good thing it's against the Tennessee Volunteers. That’s because the Lady Vols came within two points of pulling off an upset in the January meeting with LSU.

Tennessee played hard; it always plays hard, but it still fell two points short of upsetting the Lady Tigers. The difference in the first clash, and what will likely be the difference today, is Lady Tigers guard Aneesah Morrow.

Morrow recorded a monster 20-20 double-double against Tennessee. The Lady Tigers' leading rebounder was, and is, a force that only the elite defenders in the game can reckon with while also leading LSU in steals.

Tennessee couldn’t contain Morrow in January, and it won’t likely prevent her from dominating the Vols again on both ends of the floor.

Like the prior meeting, I expect a hard-fought contest. Tennessee is coming off a huge home victory over UConn, and the Tigers are undefeated at home and still in the hunt for an SEC regular-season title.

While there is always the danger of backing a team after a close victory in their previous encounter, I’m not worried about that because LSU is undefeated at home, much better in transition, and too fast to allow the Tennessee full-court press to hurt them.

That should allow for the same easy layups as LSU enjoyed in their prior meeting and for the Lady Tigers to remain undefeated at Pete Maravich Center.

Tennessee vs LSU same-game parlay (SGP)

Tennessee moneyline

Over 167.5

I also expect a high-scoring affair to pair with the Lady Tigers' moneyline best bet for a nice Super Bowl Sunday, two-leg same-game parlay.

Both schools play fast, have potent backcourts, and possess too much offensive firepower in both squad's locker rooms for this game not to clear the total.

Tennessee commanded the boards in its prior meeting, and I expect second-chance point opportunities against the smaller Tigers.

Flau’Jae Johnson, Kailyn Gilbert, and Morrow are the catalysts behind LSU's 10 steals fueling LSU’s massive transition game. The pace and the abundance of offensive talent on both squads lead me to this afternoon's clash ending Over the Number.
