We have the Mountain West Conference season opener for both schools when the Air Force Falcons meet the Wyoming Cowboys on Thursday night.
Over the weekend, senior running back Brad Roberts scampered for 174 yards and three scores to lead the Falcons to a 41-10 home win over Colorado to raise their record to 2-0. Meanwhile, Wyoming's Titus Swen rushed for 76 yards with three TDs in the Cowboys' 33-10 victory over Northern Colorado to improve to 2-1.

Air Force vs Wyoming best odds
Air Force vs Wyoming picks and predictions
The Falcons' triple option has been difficult for their opponents to stop thus far, and Air Force averages a whopping 508 rushing yards per contest in 2022. Those are heady numbers, and it's hard to ignore that kind of dominance.
Air Force scampered its way through two victories against teams unaccustomed to stopping the triple option. Wyoming is very familiar with Air Force, and except for 2020, have met every season since 1957. The Cowboys might not stop the Falcons' ground game, but it won’t be due to unfamiliarity.
The Falcons are up against a Wyoming defense averaging 111 rushing yards allowed per game, and the Cowboys are good tacklers, with five defensive players registering over 10 solo tackles each alongside nine sacks.
The Cowboys' ability to get into the offensive backfield will help negate some of the razzle-dazzle of the triple option and help keep Wyoming in the game.
Titus Swen is a good back in his own right and handles most of the rushing duties. He’s averaging 107 yards per contest and faces a Falcons defense allowing 115 yards per matchup. Air Force rarely throws the ball but Wyoming will, and quarterback Andrew Peasley has thrown for 420 yards and two passing touchdowns with a lone pick so far this season.
The offensive line is stellar and keeps their QB's jersey clean, giving Peasley time to find sophomore wideout Josh Cobbs as often as he can. The Falcons allow 168 passing yards per contest and if Peasley and Swen can get it going, the offensive balance between land and air will keep the Cowboys in this contest.
Since 2015 MWC action, Wyoming is 13-7-0 ATS when listed as the home underdog and Air Force is 9-12-1 ATS as the away favorite. Air Force is 0-5-0 ATS over their last five matchups in Laramie, and Wyoming is a good bet to cover the spread on Friday night.

Spread analysis
We’ve already discussed how taking the points is the way to go here, and depending on how brave you are, a case could be made for Wyoming on the moneyline at +500. A Cowboys game on a Friday night in Laramie is going to be loud, and Jonah Field at War Stadium can be a difficult place to play in as a road team.
Turnovers could play a large role Friday as Air Force already has five this season, and you can bet Cowboys' head coach Craig Bohl will have his defensive unit slapping at the ball on every offensive down.
Wyoming is 7-3 straight up over its last 10 matchups with Air Force and while your mileage may vary, I’m not going to risk the bankroll on this large long shot.
Over/Under analysis
This contest opened at 50 points and has already been bet down to its present 47.5 points. Air Force dominates the clock with 38.5 minutes per game, and it’s no surprise the Under is 11-3 in the last 14 meetings between these two schools.
The Under is also 5-1 in Cowboys' last six home games vs. a team with a winning road record, and 20-7-1 in their last 28 against a team with a winning record.
Furthermore, the Under is 12-3 in the Falcons' last 15 games following a straight-up win of more than 20 points and 4-1 in Air Force matchups against a team with a winning record.
