The Colorado Buffaloes will have the chance to repeat what may have been their most impressive victory of the 2023 season as they visit the Nebraska Cornhuskers in a Week 2 rivalry matchup on Saturday.

With big names and big storylines, come plenty of opportunity for our Colorado vs. Nebraska predictions to dive into the player prop market.

Colorado vs Nebraska college football player props

Prop bet #1: Dylan Raiola Over 235.5 passing yards

-115 at BetMGM

Dylan Raiola came into the season as a highly touted recruit and went on to claim the starting quarterback position as a true freshman. He certainly looked the part in Week 1, as he threw for two beautiful touchdowns against the UTEP Miners, throwing for 238 yards in just over a half of play.

Raiola will get more of a test on Saturday against the Colorado Buffaloes, but the accuracy and strength of his arm suggests that he may continue to find success, even if there are some bumps in the road.

It’s not as though Colorado has been a team that shuts down opposing offenses, either. After looking shaky throughout its first year under Coach Prime, the Buffaloes did just enough defensively to hold off the North Dakota State Bison last week. Still, they allowed 26 points, and more importantly, 292 yards in the passing game at home.

While the Buffaloes have the capability of causing turnovers against a young quarterback, it’s hard to imagine them clamping down on the yardage, as even if things go well early for Colorado, that just means Nebraska will be throwing more. I love Raiola to surpass his passing total in this game.

Prop bet #2: Isaiah Neyor anytime TD

+125 at BetMGM

It may be too early to know who Raiola will choose as his go-to target, but senior wide receiver Isaiah Neyor looks like a good contender for that role. Nayor caught six balls for 121 yards and a touchdown against UTEP, and has the kind of experience that can help a young quarterback navigate his first year at the college level.

Neyor isn’t a stranger to scoring at this level, either. While he hardly played with the Texas Longhorns last season, he was a leading option in the passing game with the Wyoming Cowboys in 2021, when he caught 44 balls for 878 yards with 12 touchdowns.

As I noted in my Raiola prop bet, Colorado isn’t adept at shutting down opposing passing games. While North Dakota State’s Cam Miller only threw for one score, the Bison did complete 20 of 26 passes, as Nebraska will likely go the air much more often on Saturday. With plus odds available on Neyor to score in this game, I’m happy to pack him to find the endzone at some point against the Buffaloes.

Prop bet #3: Travis Hunter Over 83.5 receiving yards

-115 at BetMGM

Speaking of top options, there’s no doubt that Travis Hunter is the go-to weapon in virtually all facets of the game for Colorado. The two-way star is always a threat, catching three touchdowns from Shedeur Sanders last week when the Buffaloes needed every point they could get to beat North Dakota State.

But it’s not just a matter of scoring touchdowns. Sanders frequently looks for Hunter first in big spots, leading to Hunter picking up seven receptions for 132 yards in total last week.

That’s largely in line with what Hunter did last year in the nine games he played. The wide receiver averaged 6.3 receptions for 80.1 yards per game in 2023, going over the 100-yard mark on three different occasions.

Colorado is likely to be behind – or in a tight game – for most of Saturday’s contest, which means that the Buffaloes will be throwing the ball. That means plenty of opportunities for Hunter to break off big plays and hit the Over on his receiving yardage prop.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
