If there's anything more unconventional than allowing 70 points during a 1-5 start and still appearing to control your playoff destiny, I haven't witnessed it in the NFL.
Thus is the plight of the Denver Broncos, winners of six of their last seven. Their next test comes on Saturday in the Motor City, where they’re 4.5-point dogs in the NFL odds against the Detroit Lions.
While you battle over what to wager on for this Week 15 odds matchup, we’ve got you ready with a legit set of NFL picks in the props market — starting with a rookie running back who is just scratching the surface.

Broncos vs Lions props
Prop bet #1: Never Gonna Gibbs You Up
Jahmyr Gibbs is oozing with talent and offers a bolt of lightning when the Detroit Lions want to change up the pace from starting running back David Montgomery.
Gibbs is coming off a solid effort in a loss to the Bears, rushing 11 times for 60 yards and a score. That marks the third straight game that he’s crossed this week's 50.5-yard total and the fifth time in the last six outings.
While improved, the Denver Broncos defense allows the most rushing yards in the entire NFL, serving up 144 yards per contest. Meanwhile, Detroit loves to pound the rock, ranking fifth in the league in rushing, churning out 4.7 yards per rush and 134 yards overall.
Gibbs makes the most of his touches, averaging a robust 5.4 yards per tote, and has averaged less than 4.5 yards per carry just once in 11 games this season.
The electric ex-Alabama back should be featured prominently in this one as the Lions try to shake off their struggles and close in on the NFC North crown.
Jahmyr Gibbs prop: Over 50.5 rushing yards (-110 at DraftKings)
Prop bet #2: Hustle Wilson
Who thought Russell Wilson was cooked coming into this season? It can’t just be me.
Granted, Wilson's gaudy passing numbers could be a thing of the past — "Mr. Unlimited" has only thrown for 300+ yards twice this year.
However, Russ is doing enough to win and has started to use his legs again to keep drives alive. Saturday's game should provide him the necessary space, as the Lions love to play man coverage.
Last week against the Packers, Detroit played more man coverage than they have all season — lining up that way 51.9% of the time. Despite this strategy, the Lions rank just 28th in pass rush win rate.
In the last five games following their bye, Detroit has allowed at least one quarterback in each game to record a run longer than 11.5. Expect Wilson to find daylight for at least one big gainer in an indoor setting.
Russell Wilson prop: Longest rush Over 11.5 yards (-115 at DraftKings)
Prop bet #3: The Courtland Connection
Courtland Sutton has put together a dynamite season and kept the beat going when he hauled in a 46-yard bomb in Denver’s 24-7 win over the Chargers last week.
Sutton has found paydirt in six of his last seven games and has been held out of the end zone just three times in 13 games this season.
The Lions aren’t exactly blanketing top options. Since coming out of the bye, Keenan Allen, D.J. Moore (twice), and Christian Watson have hauled in at least one TD grab. The only big-name wideout not to score a touchdown was New Orleans’ Chris Olave, who still finished with over 100 yards receiving.
Sutton has been Wilson’s most reliable red-zone threat and probably his best deep-ball guy too. He’s only had more than four catches twice in the last 10 games, but Denver's No. 1 WR is making the most of them.
The Lions have allowed the sixth-most passing touchdowns this season, so I’m confident in targeting the red-hot Sutton.
Courtland Sutton prop: Anytime touchdown (-110 at DraftKings)
