Read on for a quick analysis of each play but watch the video above for more details.
San Francisco 49ers +5.5
Trey Lance gets his shot against the undefeated Arizona Cardinals, who Adam feels are overrated and not among the NFL's elite. While Arizona is out to a 4-0 start, it struggled in a pair of games in which it was down late to the Jacksonville Jaguars and trailed by two touchdowns to the Minnesota Vikings. The line has ballooned since the Jimmy Garoppolo injury and the spread is simply too big for Adam's liking.
New York Jets +3
The Atlanta Falcons' offense has been one of the worst in the NFL through four weeks and now they will be without their top two receivers in Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage. But, unlike the Tennessee Titans who ran into a similar injury problem (down Julio Jones and A.J. Brown) against the New York Jets last week, the Falcons don't have the running game to make up for those losses. And Atlanta's defense isn't good, either, ranking 30th in efficiency. On neutral turf at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, this is too many points for Atlanta.
Minnesota Vikings -9.5
The Detroit Lions are decimated with injuries and face issues with both their secondary and offensive line. The Vikings will have their way with Detroit’s defense, while Jared Goff struggles under pressure at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota, which has a true home-field advantage.
Houston Texans +8.5
The New England Patriots don't deserve to be laying more than a touchdown against any team based on how weak their offense has looked. The Mac Jones-led team has only put more than 20 points versus the Jets and this spread is too high, even against the weak Houston Texans.
Baltimore Ravens -7
The Indianapolis Colts' offense has a lot of issues and is dealing with injuries on both sides of the ball. Carson Wentz will face lots of pressure, while the Ravens' passing game should do well in this matchup and put up points at home on Monday Night Football. Baltimore has responded with three straight wins since its Week 1 overtime loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.
