Cowboys vs 49ers SNF Prop Bets: Prescott & Purdy Struggle in Primetime Showdown

With Dak Prescott's terrible track record against San Francisco and Brock Purdy throwing to a decimated receivers corps, we expect both quarterbacks to struggle on Sunday night.

The Dallas Cowboys are set to face off against the San Francisco 49ers in Sunday Night Football action this weekend.

Both Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy are coming off rough games, and my NFL picks are fading both of them in this Week 8 showdown. See why I'm also betting on Dallas running back Rico Dowdle with my best free SNF player props for October 27.

Cowboys vs 49ers SNF props

Prop bet #1: Brock Purdy Under 237.5 passing yards

-110 at bet365

Brock Purdy is coming off a tough outing against Kansas City, as the San Francisco 49ers pivot threw for just 212 yards. Considering all of the injuries the 49ers have at receiver, it's hard to imagine Purdy eclipsing his passing yards against the Dallas Cowboys.

All-Pro wideout Brandon Aiyuk tore his ACL and MCL last week, while No. 3 receiver Jauan Jennings will miss his second-straight game with a hip injury. Deebo Samuel was also hospitalized with pneumonia earlier this week and is listed as questionable for this primetime tilt.

Kyle Shanahan already loves to lean on his ground game and he'll likely pound the rock even more since the Cowboys rank dead-last in defensive rush EPA.

Prop bet #2: Rico Dowdle Over 40.5 rushing yards

-110 at bet365

Although Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle has been far from impressive, the O/U on his rushing yards is too low in Week 8.

Dowdle rushed for a season-high 87 yards on 20 carries in Week 5 against Pittsburgh's stingy run defense, and coming out of their bye, Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said that Dowdle "definitely needs to touch the ball more, without a doubt." With the abundance of injuries the 49ers are facing on offense, they might have a tough time separating on the scoreboard, which should mean plenty of work for Dowdle.

The Niners have also struggled to stop the run after injuries to defensive tackle Javon Hargrave and linebacker Dre Greenlaw. They rank 26th in defensive rush EPA and surrendered 184 yards on the ground to the Chiefs last week.

Prop bet #3: Dak Prescott Under 242.5 passing yards

-110 at bet365

Dak Prescott is coming off a performance where he completed only 17-of-33 passing attempts for 178 yards versus the Lions. That was an especially embarrassing showing when you take into account Detroit's piss-poor secondary and the negative game script that Dallas was playing with.

This Cowboys offense has become one-dimensional and has essentially been the "Prescott to CeeDee Lamb Show." If defenses are able to neutralize Lamb, Prescott struggles to find other targets. It doesn't help that Dak's offensive line allows pressure at the sixth-highest rate (25.2%) in the NFL, so he might not have much time to throw against a Niners defense that limits foes to 205.1 passing yards per game.

When Prescott faced the 49ers last November, he completed 14-of-24 passes for 153 yards with three interceptions. In the playoffs the previous season, he threw for 206 yards on 37 attempts.
