Dak Prescott Thanksgiving Day Odds and Props: Cowboy Up

The Commanders are coming off a game where they got thoroughly torched by Tommy DeVito and the Giants. Now, their putrid secondary faces a legit QB in Cowboys' Dak Prescott. Our betting picks expect another big game from Dak's attack.

When it comes to football, there aren’t many better days than Thanksgiving, and the Washington Commanders vs. Dallas Cowboys game this year gives us a great opportunity to get into some Dak Prescott odds.

The Cowboys QB has had some big performances recently and I’m expecting another big game for Dak against a terrible Commanders team that lost to a Tommy Devito-led Giants last week despite being 9.5-point favorites. Now, Dak & Co. are listed as 11-point favorites in NFL Week 12 odds.

Let's see how Prescott will factor into our Commanders vs. Cowboys predictions by adding a pair of NFL picks related to the star QB.

Dak Prescott Thanksgiving Day prop pick

3+ passing touchdowns (+215)

With all three Thanksgiving games seeing the favorites favored by a score or more, it means prop bets become even more important. That’s good news for us with the Commanders' trip to Dallas to face the Cowboys becoming a great opportunity to wager on Dak Prescott.

Of the Cowboys’ seven wins, an incredible six have been by 20 or more points, and with the Cowboys favored by as many as 12 points at the time of writing, we could be set for another blowout here. The first six weeks of the season saw some struggles for Prescott, with just one game featuring more than one passing touchdown, but both he and the Cowboys have been excellent since their Week 7 bye.

In Dallas' past four outings, we’ve seen Dak throw 13 touchdowns with the team picking up three wins in the process. Even in their only loss in that period — 28-23 to the Eagles — Dak still threw three TDs and left with a QB rating of 115.2. He’s playing very well and this matchup against a terrible Commanders secondary will be one he’s looking forward to.

We saw the Commanders trade away their best pass rushers before the deadline, which hasn’t helped matters, but this secondary has been woeful regardless of those moves. Only two teams in the NFL have allowed more passing yards per game than the Commanders and nobody has allowed more passing touchdowns than their 24, an average of 2.18 per game.

If Tommy DeVito can throw three touchdown passes against this defense, then there’s every chance we see Dak match or even exceed that. Given the quality that Dak possesses plus the fact that we saw the Commanders give up six turnovers last week, he should get plenty of opportunities for another bundle of passing touchdowns. At +215 I’m happy to bet it.

Prop: Dak Prescott 3+ passing touchdowns (+215 at bet365)

Dak Prescott Thanksgiving Day same-game parlay

Dak Prescott 3+ passing touchdowns

Brandin Cooks Over 35.5 receiving yards

CeeDee Lamb anytime touchdown

We’ll start by taking Dak to throw three or more touchdown passes.

Next, we’ll be backing Brandin Cooks to have Over 35.5 receiving yards. Cooks started his Cowboys career slowly with just 73 receiving yards in his first four games. However, in his five games since, he’s managed to eclipse this total four times. Given the yardage that this Washington defense is giving up, it’s easy to see Cooks smash this total.

To round off our +625 SGP, we’re backing Prescott’s favorite target CeeDee Lamb to find the end zone. Much like his quarterback, he didn’t have the best of seasons until the bye in Week 7. In those first six weeks, he scored just one touchdown and had two games of 100+ yards. In the four games since, he’s scored four times and broke 100+ yards on three occasions with a combined 538 receiving yards. He will be heavily targeted here and should have a good day against one of the NFL’s worst secondaries. If Dak is throwing three or more passing TDs, then it's likely that at least one will be to Lamb.
