Best Week 2 first TD picks
First TD prop bet #1: Isaiah Likely
Best odds: +1,200 at FanDuel
After the NFL season opened up with the Chiefs beating the Baltimore Ravens, we’ve been hearing a lot about the potential demise of Mark Andrews thanks to the performance of Isaiah Likely. It’s far too early to be claiming Andews is no longer TE1 in Baltimore but Likely has certainly demonstrated his ability as a pass catcher.
Frist TD prop bet #2: Steelers defense
Best odds: +2,300 at FanDuel
The Pittsburgh Steelers got two picks last week and managed to recover a fumble but were unable to take anything back to the house for a TD. It’s always hard to know exactly when a defensive touchdown will strike but this Denver Broncos game feels as likely as it’ll ever be.
We saw Bo Nix struggle in his NFL debut and now faces one of the league’s best pass rushers in T.J. Watt. Nix was not careful enough with the football last weekend, throwing two interceptions, and if he’s as reckless this time around, there’s a good chance of the football ending up in Pittsburgh's hands.
First TD prop bet #3: J.K. Dobbins
Best odds: +700 at FanDuel
We backed J.K. Dobbins to open the scoring for the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1, and while he did score first for his team, it was the second of the game thanks to Alexander Mattison of the Raiders. We’re going back to the well in Week 2.
As we said last week, it’s availability not ability that’s been the issue for Dobbins since he arrived in the NFL but he looked back to his best, finding holes that were created by his offensive line. We know Jim Harbaugh loves to pound the rock and given Dobbins’ 135-yard, one-touchdown game, he’ll be getting a bulk of the carries.
The Panthers were terrible on offense last week, so we're likely to see the Chargers score first, and hopefully, it’ll be Dobbins powering it home.
