Week 4 Injuries
New England Patriots: The Pats announced Saturday that QB Cam Newton has tested positive for COVID-19. He has been ruled out for Week 4, while the team awaits further guidelines from doctors and the NFL before their scheduled flight to Kansas City. The SuperBook at Westgate initially took the game down, with the Patriots +7, then went back up at Patriots +10.5. However, the NFL then announced the game would be postponed until at least Monday or Tuesday, and the game was again taken off the board.
San Francisco 49ers: Tight end Jordan Reed suffered an MCL sprain in Sunday’s road rout of the New York Giants, and he could miss six to eight weeks. However, fellow tight end George Kittle (knee) should return this week at home against the Philadelphia Eagles. The same can't be said of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle), who was ruled out Friday. Still, the Niners have risen from -6 to -7.5 this week at The SuperBook.
Seattle Seahawks: Running backs Chris Carson (knee) and Carlos Hyde (shoulder) are questionable for Sunday’s road game against the Miami Dolphins. Seattle opened -7 at The SuperBook and spent most of the week at -6.5, but dropped to -5.5 Friday.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Wideout Chris Godwin injured a hamstring in Sunday’s win at Denver, and he is out for Week 4 at home against the Los Angeles Chargers. However, nobody is backing off the Bucs at The SuperBook, where Tampa Bay moved from -6.5 Sunday night to -7.5 by Monday night. The line dipped to -7 Tuesday. The Buccaneers also ruled out running back Leonard Fournette (ankle) on Friday, but there was no impact on the line.
New Orleans Saints: Wideout Michael Thomas (ankle), who already sat out the Week 3 home loss to Green Bay, won't play Sunday at Detroit. The line dropped from Saints -4 to -3.5 Friday afternoon at The SuperBook, then to -3 Friday night.
Cincinnati Bengals: Running back Joe Mixon (chest) is questionable for Sunday's home game against Jacksonville. The Bengals opened -3 and dropped to -2.5 Friday.
Arizona Cardinals: Wideout DeAndre Hopkins (ankle) didn't practice all week, and it appears he'll be a game-time decision at Carolina. The Cardinals opened -4.5 at The SuperBook and slid to -3 by Friday night.
Las Vegas Raiders: Wideout Henry Ruggs III sat last week with a hamstring injury and is doubtful to play Sunday against visiting Buffalo. The Raiders opened +2.5 and are now +3.;5 at The SuperBook.
Green Bay Packers: Wideout Davante Adams (hamstring), who missed last week's win at New Orleans, announced Monday morning that he won't play in the Monday night game. Fellow receiver Allen Lazard, who had six catches for 142 yards and a touchdown against the Saints, has a core muscle injury and went on injured reserve, so he's out at least three weeks. The Packers were -7 pretty much all week at The SuperBook, but dropped a full point Monday to -6.
Atlanta Falcons: Julio Jones (hamstring) missed last week's loss to Chicago, and he was listed as questionable for Monday night at Green Bay, as was fellow wideout Calvin Ridley (ankle). However, both are expected to play, and the Falcons moved a point on Monday, from +7 to +6.
Denver Broncos: The injuries keep piling up for the Broncos, with defensive tackle Jurrell Casey ruled out for the season Monday with a torn biceps. He is the sixth Denver starter to be injured in the young season, including star LB Von Miller, CB A.J. Bouye, WR Courtland Sutton and QB Drew Lock. Denver will start third-string QB Brett Rypien against the Jets in the Thursday night game, and the line flipped to New York -1 at The SuperBook, after opening Denver -2.5.
Week 4 Weather
Seattle Seahawks at Miami Dolphins: Winds are blowing SE at 15 mph in Miami Sunday, with temperatures in the high 80s. Humidity, however, will make it feel like 98 degrees at Hard Rock Stadium. The total for Seahawks-Dolphins is at 54.5 points.
Los Angeles Chargers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: It's currently raining in Tampa with showers expected to continue past kickoff but could stop later in the afternoon. Temperatures are in the high 70s with winds blowing up to 7 mph. The total for Chargers-Bucs is at 42.5 points.
Indianapolis Colts at Chicago Bears: The forecast in Chicago is calling for winds blowing NNW at 15 mph with temperatures in the low 50s./high 40s. The total for Colts-Bears is at 43 points.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Cincinnati Bengals: Rain is expected to start after this 1 p.m. ET kickoff, with showers in the forecast for 2 p.m. ET. Temperatures will be in the low 60s with winds blowing at 7 mph. The Jaguars-Bengals total is sitting at 49 points.
Week 4 Consensus
Week 4 Pros vs Joes
Denver Broncos at New York Jets: Eric Osterman, manager and oddsmaker at The SuperBook, said this game is definitely Pros vs. Joes, with the line moving from Broncos -2.5 to Jets -1 for the Thursday night tilt. "We've taken sharp action on the Jets at +2.5 all the way to -1," Osterman said. "The sharp money moved the line, but we're getting a lot of public support on the Broncos."
New Orleans Saints at Detroit Lions: "We have sharp money on the Lions, but huge parlay money coming in on the Saints, both spread and moneyline," SuperBook manager and oddsmaker Eric Osterman. "Reverse line move and Pros vs. Joes."
Seattle Seahawks at Miami Dolphins: "We have sharp money on the Dolphins spread, but it's being overwhelmed by the Seahawks money," SuperBook manager and oddsmaker Eric Osterman said. "Reverse line move and Pros vs. Joes on this game also."
