Saints vs Panthers MNF Prop Bets: Trio of New Orleans' Players Raise Hell in Carolina

Monday Night Football is a double feature in Week 2, with the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers meeting in one of the games. Our NFL picks aren't a fan of of Carolina's defense, and we're liking Derek Carr to spread the ball around.

Saints vs Panthers MNF props

Prop bet #1: Williams, I choose you!

My first bet is based on the New Orleans Saints' Pokemon-loving running back Jamaal Williams, who is in a great position to succeed with the continued absence of Alvin Kamara. With Kamara still out and the rookie Kendre Miller questionable, this really feels like a player we can exploit.

Last week we saw Williams featured heavily for the Saints against the Titans, going for 18 carries and two receptions. It’s worth noting that Williams only managed 45 yards — just 2.5 yards per carry — however, the Carolina Panthers allowed both Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allegeier to get Over five yards per carry last week.

Should Miller be able to suit up then he could take some work off Williams, but it’s unlikely to be enough to damage his workload much and he should be able to crack 55.5 rushing yards here. You can also grab +140 on him scoring a touchdown if you want to double up.

Jamaal Williams prop: Over 55.5 rushing yards

Prop bet #2: X-Factor

Rashid Shaheed has been one of the most interesting arrivals in the NFL since joining the Saints as a UFA last year. The former Weber State man has a fascinating profile, but it does feel like NOLA has found somebody who can offer it something unique.

It’s clear that Chris Olave and Michael Thomas are going to be the guys getting the bulk of targets, but the team will design plays to get the ball into Shaheed’s hands. Last week he hauled in five of his six targets and turned that into 89 yards and a touchdown. He’s very efficient and can be a real mismatch for defenders. His reception line for MNF sits at 2.5 and I’m sure we’ll see more catches than that.

Rashid Shaheed prop: Over 2.5 receptions

Prop bet #3: Unsung hero

Derek Carr and tight ends, name a better combo? Juwan Johnson was a player who got a lot of buzz this summer, with many bettors and fantasy experts expecting a big season in New Orleans.

He only hauled in three of his five targets last week but is arguably the team's best red zone threat and should see some usage in the key area of the field. Last week we didn’t see the Falcons use their TEs often against the Panthers, but when they did, Kyle Pitts averaged 22 yards per catch.

With Olave, Thomas, and Shaheed all on the field, it should give Johnson a favorable matchup and a chance to get in the endzone at a big +360 price.

Juwan Johnson prop: Anytime touchdown
