Seattle quarterback Geno Smith has found a home in Seattle, as the Seahawks signal-caller has been hot, throwing two scoring strikes in his last three contests with a league-leading seven multiple passing touchdown games this season. Smith is in the midst of a career year with 2,199 passing yards, 15 TD passes, and four interceptions.

Wideouts Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf are healthy, and the two have combined for eight TD receptions, and each WR has two-game scoring streaks on the line. They could eat against a Tampa Bay secondary that is allowing 1.6 TD receptions per game.

Smith deploys his tight ends and has two good ones in Will Dissly and Noah Fant. Neither has found the end zone over the last several games, but Smith likes to use them in short-yardage situations, and they could see the end zone against a Bucs' defense allowing 1.8 red zone TDs per contest.

The Seahawks will try and establish the run around rookie running back Kenneth Walker III, which will open up the passing game for the Seattle QB to sling it. Smith leads the league in completion percentage, and his seven multiple TD games are tops in the league.

Metcalf and Lockett are finding the end zone again, and both can make big plays against any secondary, especially against a defense allowing 1.6 passing TDs. I’m going with Smith to exceed 1.5 TD passes on Sunday.

Seattle is a +2.5 underdog Sunday, and while I like this play, I am leaning towards Seattle to win this straight up at +130. The Seahawks have won four straight by at least 10 points or more, are first in the NFC West, and Smith has put the doubters to sleep.

Seattle has the 7th-ranked offensive DVOA and has scored 27 points or more in their previous three. Walker has been a revelation, and the rookie from Michigan State has rushed for 100-yards in consecutive games. The Hawks possess the 12th-ranked DVOA defense, and have recorded 27 sacks and given up fewer than 23 points in their last four. The Seahawks are 12th in passing yards, 25th in rushings yards allowed, and 23rd in defensive points allowed.

Tampa Bay needed fourth-quarter heroics to defeat the Rams last week, but the Bucs' offense hasn’t played well. Tom Brady is second in passing yards but has thrown just 10 scoring strikes with one interception. His offensive line is suspect, Mike Evans has dropped four passes, and the rushing game is 31st in DVOA.

The Bucs' defense is banged up, so look for Walker to have a big game against a soft rushing defense and for Smith to pick his spots as the Seahawks outscore an inconsistent Tampa Bay offense.

Seahawks vs Buccaneers Over/Under analysis

44.5 points is the total, and I’m leaning towards this one to exceed the oddsmakers’ number. Seattle is 4th in scoring while Tampa Bay is 25th, but injuries to several key players are the likely culprit for Tampa Bay. The Seattle defense is leaky, and a Bucs offense looking for some consistency should have their chances to score, and I believe they will.

The Seahawks allow 2.9 TDs per game, and Brady throwing 40+ times against a shaky Seattle secondary should bear some fruit. Tampa Bay has a terrific defense, but Smith and the Seahawks have a balanced offensive attack with multiple weapons.

I like the matchup Walker has against the softer Tampa Bay rushing defense, and that should open things up for Smith to do his thing. Seattle is 5th in turnover margin (+3), while Tampa Bay is 9th (+2).
