2025 Super Bowl odds analysis
For the second time in three years, the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles for the Lombardi Trophy.
Super Bowl LIX odds are on the board and moving quickly in the opening minutes of action.
Here’s a look at the opening spread, moneyline and Over/Under total and the adjustment to the odds to win Super Bowl LIX.
Spread analysis
Look-ahead lines before Championship Sunday had the Chiefs as 1.5-point favorites over the Eagles in Super Bowl LIV and, when the smoke settled, that’s where sportsbooks opened the official SBLIX spread.
The early movement has been toward Kansas City, making KC an expensive -1.5 or moving the spread to Kansas City -2.
Moneyline analysis
Kansas City opened between -120 and -130 to win Super Bowl LIX, giving the Chiefs an implied win probability around 55.6%.
Philadelphia is set as a +105 underdog to win the Big Game, carrying an implied win probability of 48.8%.
Over/Under analysis
The Super Bowl LIX total opened at 48.5 points after the thrilling AFC Championship Game.
That total is ticking upward with some books at 50.5 Over/Under in the opening minutes of action. That’s a significant move through the key number of 50.
However, many books have pumped the brakes on the total at 49.5.

Super Bowl spread
The point spread represents the expected margin of victory in the game and is the most popular way of betting on the Super Bowl. The favored team is denoted by a negative symbol (-) preceding their spread, while the underdog carries a positive sign (+) before their spread.
For the favorite to successfully cover the spread, they must secure victory by a margin exceeding the designated point spread. Conversely, for the underdog to cover, they either need to win outright or lose by a margin narrower than the specified spread.
To illustrate, let's take the example of the Super Bowl 58 matchup between the San Francisco 49ers, who were favored at -1.5, and the Kansas City Chiefs, who were deemed the underdog at +1.5. In this scenario, the 49ers had to secure victory by a margin of two or more points to cover the spread, whereas the Chiefs had to win outright or lose by just one point to achieve the same outcome. By winning the game, the Chiefs both won and covered.
- Kansas City Chiefs: +1.5 (-110)
- San Francisco 49ers: -1.5 (-110)

Super Bowl moneyline
The moneyline is the most straightforward Super Bowl bet you can place and is, therefore, an attractive wager for first-time bettors. All you have to do is pick the winner of the game.
In the case of Super Bowl 58, San Francisco was a -130 favorite, which means bettors needed to wager $130 on the 49ers to win $100. The Chiefs, meanwhile, were a +110 moneyline underdog, so bettors stood to win $110 for every $100 they wagered for the Kansas City Super Bowl win.
- Kansas City Chiefs: +110
- San Francisco 49ers: -130

Super Bowl Over/Under
The Over/Under, also known as the total, represents the anticipated cumulative points scored by both teams. Bettors have the option of placing wagers on whether the final score will exceed (go Over) or fall short of (go Under) this predetermined total.
For instance, consider the following example with an Over/Under total set at 47.5 points. If the combined score reaches 48 points or higher, the game falls into the Over category. Conversely, if the total points scored amount to 47 points or less, the game goes Under. Super Bowl 58 ended exactly on 47, so if the total had been set at 47.0, the bet would be graded as a push.
- Kansas City Chiefs: Over 47.5 (-110)
- San Francisco 49ers: Under 47.5 (-110)
