Despite winning two straight, the Minnesota Vikings have not looked fully in sync but a game against the lowly Titans should help. Find out why Sam Farley is laying the points with the visitors on Sunday.

The Minnesota Vikings take on the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium this Sunday in a game that has seen big line movement already since opening.

The Titans only have two wins this season, but so did the Jaguars who the Vikings struggled against last week. Does that mean the Titans can win? Sadly for their fans, my Vikings vs Titans predictions expect the Vikings to cover.

Find out more in my NFL picks for Sunday, November 17. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. ET from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, with the game airing on CBS.

Vikings vs Titans prediction

Who will win?

There’s a reason why the Vikings are six-point favorites, a number that’s risen from just one point at opening. Public money and sharp money are both back the Vikings and given their 7-2 record it’s no surprise.

The Titans have had some bright moments in the past few weeks, with the win over the Patriots two weeks ago, and Will Levis looking good in his comeback last week. Despite that, they’re unlikely to be able to topple a good Vikings team.

My best bet
Vikings -6 (-110 at BetMGM)

My analysis
We’ve got an interesting matchup on Sunday with the Minnesota Vikings at Tennesse Titans. The visitors have won two games in a row and their 7-2 record is the direct opposite of the Titans’ 2-7. The line has moved from the Vikings being one-point favorites to six-point favorites but that isn’t going to stop us from taking the Vikings.

The past couple of weeks have been good ones for the Titans. Two weeks ago they beat the Patriots to secure their second win of the season and then last week they saw Will Levis return from injury. The Titans didn’t manage to beat the Chargers but it was arguably one of Levis’ best performances since joining the league, throwing for two touchdowns and 175 and completing 18 of 23 attempts. He played really well and the Titans will be hoping that their elite secondary can do enough to slow the Vikings down enough that Levis can get them over the line.

That secondary will be a concern to the Vikings, who have seen Sam Darnold crumble in recent weeks. When the season started there was talk of him being a shock MVP candidate but now he’s playing inconsistently and making simple mistakes, that are far more likely to see him out of the starting job immediately when JJ McCarthy is cleared to play. However, they do have a very strong running game, with Aaron Jones likely to suit up and play. The Titans are giving up 116.9 yards per game on the ground and we’ll see Darnold hand the ball off to Jones frequently on Sunday.

The good news is their defense has been very impressive this season and in Brian Flores they have one of the best defensive coordinators in the league. While Levis has an impressive return to action, do we really think he’s suddenly become an NFL-level QB? One performance doesn’t change all the evidence we’ve seen so far in his career and he’s about to face a Vikings’ defense who are experts at the blitz. They’re going to limit the time Levis has to throw and force him into making mistakes. Last week’s return was his first game without an interception in six games. He has shown time and again that he can’t handle defensive pressure, and the Vikings’ defense should keep the Titans scoring very low, giving their offense the platform to get the points we need to cover.

Vikings vs Titans same-game parlay

Vikings -6

Aaron Jones anytime TD

Under 39.5 points

In addition to our best bet for Vikings vs. Titans we’re also going to back Aaron Jones to score. He’s been really good for the Vikings this season, despite only finding the endzone three times. The Titans have allowed 12 touchdowns to running backs across nine games this season.

Our final leg is for Under 39.5 total points. Only five teams are scoring fewer points per game than the Titans. The Vikings defense has been amongst the NFL’s best this season, while the Titans have given up the fewest passing yards per game, with their secondary being hugely impressive this year.
