Your Dad is going to be guarding the thermostat like Larry Allen this Thanksgiving, with cold, wind, and snow making an appearance during the holiday weekend.

That winter weather impacts a few of this week’s outdoor NFL games, especially Sunday Night Football, and has already started influencing the NFL Week 13 odds.

I run down the forecasts, line moves, and how you should handicap those matchups for your NFL picks in my Week 13 weather report.

Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs weather

It’ll be cold — but not crazy cold — in Arrowhead Stadium this Friday. Beyond that, there are no notable winds or precipitation for this holiday showcase.

Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET, with temperatures in the mid-30s, but the mercury will drop as this game plays out. By the time the second half rolls around, the “feels like” temperatures will sink to freezing.

The Las Vegas Raiders are an indoor team from a warm climate, but I don’t see this cooler climate throwing the Silver & Black for a loop. The Kansas City Chiefs are monster favorites with a lower total of 42.5 O/U.

Seattle Seahawks at New York Jets weather

Sunday afternoon in East Rutherford will see temperatures cooled to “feel like” sub-freezing thanks to winds blowing West at 11 mph and gusts getting up to 24 mph, moving sideline to sideline at MetLife Stadium.

MetLife has a mind of its own when it comes to the wind, with unpredictable swirling breezes in the northwest corner of the stadium ever since they tore down the old Meadowlands racetrack.

This total opened at 43 points and dropped as low as 41.5 before coming back to 42.5 O/U.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals weather

The forecast for Cincinnati on Sunday is as ice-cold as the rivalry between these AFC North foes.

Temperatures will be in the low 30s with winds helping chill Paycor Stadium to “feel like” temps of 23 degrees. Those breezes will blow at 9 mph with gusts up to 18 mph, moving West from corner to corner.

Other than the chilly temperatures, winds aren’t expected to breach 20 mph and skies should be clear with zero precipitation.

This total opened at 47 and got pumped up to 49.5 before coming back down to 47.5 points.

San Francisco 49ers at Buffalo Bills weather

Orchard Park is a long way from Santa Clara for the San Francisco 49ers, who will walk into a winter wonderland on Sunday Night Football.

Snow is in the forecast for Buffalo all weekend, with a 46% chance of snow showers on deck for Sunday’s 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff. Those will continue into the second half when snow is shown to lighten to flurries. It doesn’t appear to be enough to accumulate on the heated field at Highmark Stadium, but it could limit visibility downfield.

That’s the “expected” forecast for Sunday Night Football. The lake effect off Lake Erie can come out of nowhere if the wind and temperature conditions are right. And that’s essentially a wall of snow coming out of the water. It’s pretty cool but also scary. There’s a lake effect warning in place until Monday.

And speaking of winds and temperatures, breezes will blow at 11 mph from the west, with gusts up to 24 mph moving end to end at Highmark Stadium. Those winds will take the temperature from 30 degrees to a “feels like” range in the low 20s.

This Over/Under hit the board at 46.5 points and dropped two points to 44.5, with injuries still an issue for the 49ers offense.
