Canucks vs Blackhawks Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NHL Game

With Vancouver coming off a big overtime win in Calgary, the playoff-chasing Canucks should cruise to an easy two points against the league’s worst team.

The Vancouver Canucks kick off a three-game homestand tonight as they host the Chicago Blackhawks at Rogers Arena.

Vancouver has won the last nine meetings between these teams, with eight of those victories coming by at least two goals. I expect this trend to continue, as detailed below in my Blackhawks vs. Canucks predictions.

Read on for my NHL picks for March 15.

Canucks vs Blackhawks prediction

My Canucks pick: Canucks -1.5 (+114 at Pinnacle)

My Canucks analysis
No team has been worse than the Chicago Blackhawks over the past two months. They rank last in the league in xGF% over that stretch by a significant margin.

Meanwhile, the Vancouver Canucks have been generating high-danger scoring chances and are also doing a better job of suppressing high-danger scoring chances, ranking seventh in xGA/60. By comparison, the Blackhawks sit 30th in that category.

To make matters worse, netminder Spencer Knight was acquired from Florida in the Seth Jones trade to provide stability in net. Unfortunately for Chicago, the young goalie is 0-2 in his last two starts with a .886 SV%.

In the other crease, Kevin Lankinen is 3-0 when facing Chicago, boasting a .934 SV%. With Vancouver and Calgary jockeying back and forth for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, back the motivated Canucks to cover on the puck line.
