The Edmonton Oilers and Buffalo Sabres are two of the most exciting offensive teams in the NHL and tonight they collide in what is a very important matchup for both sides.

The Oilers have absolutely exploded lately, scoring 16 goals in their last three games and this Sabres defense will most likely struggle to try to slow them down.

However, the Oilers are seeking revenge after the Sabres took the first meeting back in October.

See how it plays out in my NHL betting picks and predictions for Sabres vs. Oilers below.

Oilers vs Sabres picks and predictions

At this point of the season, it's clear that slowing down Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl is essentially impossible. In their last five games, McDavid has scored six goals while adding seven assists and Draisaitl has notched six goals with three helpers.

The Edmonton Oilers are the No. 1 offense in the league right now, averaging 3.88 goals per game, and they also have the No. 1 power play unit at 31.9% — they're absolutely buzzing.

Having said that, the Buffalo Sabres' offense shouldn’t be slept on. They haven’t been as lights out as the Oilers, but this is the third-best scoring offense in the league (3.74 gpg).

They're coming off of a very strong performance against the Lightning but the concern is their goaltending. The Sabres are allowing 3.65 goals per game, which is the main reason why they aren’t higher in the standings.

No matter which goaltender starts for Buffalo, I don’t see this team stopping the Oilers right now, I love Edmonton to win this game in 60 minutes.

My best bet: Oilers 3-way moneyline (+105 at BetMGM)

Oilers vs Sabres moneyline analysis

The Sabres have not been all that good on home ice this season, skating to a 13-16-2 record at KeyBank Center, but this team is in the hunt right now to make the playoffs, so this won't be easy for Edmonton.

With that being said, the Oilers happen to be one of the better road teams in the NHL, skating to an 18-10-3 record in road contests. With that said, they haven't been able to take down Buffalo lately, going 1-4 in the last five meetings. I expect tonight to be different.

The Oilers currently sit six points back of the No. 1 spot in the Pacific Division and can easily catch the first-place Golden Knights.

Edmonton is a much deeper team than Buffalo and they play at such a quick pace. It might be hard for the Sabres to keep up.

Oilers vs Sabres Over/Under analysis

Even though these are two of the highest-scoring teams in the league, the Under has gone 4-1 in the last five meetings. That being said, tonight might be different with how explosive these groups have been of late, especially the Oilers.

The goaltenders on both sides haven’t necessarily been at their best either, even though we're still unsure who's starting.

The 7-goal total is a very high number, but with the firepower in this game on both sides, we should see a ton of action. I love the Over.
