We’ve got a busy four-game slate in the NHL Playoffs tonight. The Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to close out the Ottawa Senators, while the Carolina Hurricanes are seeking to do the same against the New Jersey Devils.
Elsewhere, the Minnesota Wild and Vegas Golden Knights meet in a pivotal Game 5, with the series tied 2-2. The Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings are also in the same position.
Let’s dive into my NHL picks for Tuesday, April 29 with two parlays.
Today's best NHL Playoffs parlay: April 29
Pick #1: Senators vs. Maple Leafs - Over 5.5
While the Toronto Maple Leafs may have a 3-1 series lead, the Battle of Ontario has been entertaining, with every game decided by one goal except for the series opener where the Buds blew out the Ottawa Senators. When it comes to the total, the Over has cashed in two of the four contests.
Game 4 saw seven goals, with Ottawa running out with a 4-3 victory. A minimum of seven have found the back of the net in three of the last five meetings between the Leafs and Sens.
This is a rather low total for Game 5 and I expect both teams to bring their absolute best here. The Leafs are also at home. Whether they run away with this one or it’s another close matchup, we’ll see our fair share of goals.
Pick #2: Golden Knights moneyline
The Vegas Golden Knights head into Game 5 as a clear favorite at home. They were absolutely dominant at T-Mobile Arena this season, posting a phenomenal 29-9-3 record. When it comes to this series with the Minnesota Wild, Bruce Cassidy’s squad is 1-1 at home. They won 4-2 then lost 5-2 to Minnesota in Game 2.
After a thrilling 4-3 victory on the road in Game 4, Vegas returns home with momentum and a raucous crowd waiting. The Golden Knights have also won three of their last four meetings with the Wild on home ice.
The Pacific Division winners will feed off the Sin City energy and take a 3-2 series lead back to Minnesota. It could be another close one, so the moneyline is the best option.
Pick #3: Oilers vs. Kings - Over 6.5
Arguably the most entertaining series of the Stanley Cup Playoffs so far has been between the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings. They’ve taken part in some epic battles in essentially every game, and Edmonton overcame a 2-0 series deficit to tie things at two.
The Over is a clear money maker for Game 5. It’s easily hit in all four contests, with a minimum of eight goals being scored in three of them. We have two electrifying offensive teams who aren’t exactly playing their best defensive hockey right now, either.
Expect another high-scoring encounter in Game 5.

Pick #1: Maple Leafs moneyline
We’re going to forget what happened in the regular season when Ottawa completely manhandled Toronto. Instead, we’ll focus on what’s happened in this series. Aside from the Over offering value, I also don’t see the Leafs losing at home.
They won Games 1 and 2 at Scotiabank Arena and compiled a 27-13-1 record on home ice during the regular season. Our Covers Consensus shows 78% of the public is taking the Toronto moneyline tonight.
Toronto will produce the goods and send the fans home with a smile on their faces while staying unbeaten in these playoffs at home in the process.
Pick #2: Hurricanes moneyline
The Carolina Hurricanes have dominated this series. They’re up 3-1 and have won by at least two goals in all three victories. It’s clear the Hurricanes are the superior team, and the moneyline shows it tonight. They’re a -280 favorite.
As part of this SGP, this bet is worth a look. Carolina won the first two games of the series at home, and they have the opportunity to close out the New Jersey Devils in Raleigh tonight. The Canes had one of the best home records in the league in 2024-25, going 31-9-1.
They’ve also won five straight against the Devils at the Lenovo Center.
Pick #3: Kings moneyline
Los Angeles returns home tonight with no shortage of motivation. The Kings blew a substantial lead in Game 4 and ended up losing 4-3 in overtime to Connor McDavid & Co. The Kings brought their best in Games 1 and 2 at Crypto.com Arena, however, winning both.
We’re also looking at another team that thrives at home, posting a 31-6-4 record during the regular season. LA has also gone unbeaten in their last five in its arena against Edmonton. And while I do see this series going seven games, the Kings should take advantage this evening.
