Best NHL Player Prop Bets Today, April 7: Kings For a Day

In tonight's late game, we're targeting Adrian Kempe and Andrei Kuzmenko to each record a point vs. the Kraken. We're omitting Anze Kopitar from the stack, though, as the center has not been as constant of late.

With just 11 days remaining in the regular season, the Under train has come roaring in with a 5-15-1 O/U record across the weekend games.

It’s getting a little more unpredictable with line combos and ice times, so bettors need to pick their spots very carefully as the season winds down. Teams are resting players while others are giving more ice time to fringe players. It’s a grind out there right now.

These are my three favorite NHL player props for Monday, April 7.

Best NHL player prop bets for April 7

Andrei Kuzmenko + Adrian Kempe Over 0.5 points each (+190 at bet365)

Backing the Los Angeles Kings home offense vs. the Seattle Kraken is an easy look here. Since the restart, the Kings are 12-1-2 at home and winning games by an average of 2.33 goals.

I’m not getting super greedy here with a triple stack, which I think will be a theme over the next 11 days. Don’t get greedy. Take double-stacks at decent prices instead of triples at big numbers.

I’m taking the top line and leaving out Anze Kopitar, who has gone pointless in four of his last six despite posting a plus-7 rating. That leaves Adrian Kempe and Andrei Kuzmenko for a point apiece at +190.

The pair have stacked in four straight games and have hit in 66% of the games since the line was put together. Kuzmenko is even money for a point by himself.

If you’re looking to add to your card in the late game, the second one of Warren Foegele and Trevor Moore is a whopping +320 without Philip Danault.

Mason McTavish + Trevor Zegras Over 0.5 points each (+225 at bet365)

This is the line getting the most 5-on-5 ice time for the Anaheim Ducks, and it will get the best offensive matchups vs. an injured Edmonton Oilers team.

Trevor Zegras has been very consistent over the last 30 days, with a point in 10 of his last 14 games, while Mason McTavish has 21 points over his last 20, pointing in 70% of those games.

It projects as the highest-scoring game on the small slate, and the Ducks have been playing some loose hockey, going 7-3 O/U across their last 10 games.

Calvin Pickard has played in six straight games with Stuart Skinner sidelined, so there is a chance that the visitors turn to Olivier Rodrigue tonight. The rookie goalie has not made an NHL start and had a sub-.900 save percentage in the AHL this season. Two-way scoring in this game wouldn’t surprise me.

Oliver Bjorkstrand Over 0.5 points (+150 at bet365)

Third-line winger Oliver Bjorkstrand has gotten a big promotion by joining Nikita Kucherov and the boys on the top power play. The Tampa Bay Lightning PP has not been its normal self of late and Jon Cooper is looking for a spark today vs. the New York Rangers. The Bolts have gone four straight games without a PP marker but had tallied a goal with the extra man in four straight games before that.

Bjorkstrand has five points over his last six games without big PP ice time. He should push his TOI up to 15 minutes today, and because of his 5-on-5 line, he shouldn’t have the toughest matchups. The Bjorkstrand and Yanni Gourde stack has hit in two of the team’s last five games for +6 units.

The winger is still +650 for a power-play point and is worth a sprinkle, even if you have a full unit on the point play.
