It was a profitable day here last night, but it should have been better as Brayden Schenn had his assist wiped off the face of the planet, which cost a second +400 winner. It was still a 1-2 SU +2u day here, and with a two-game slate today, it’s an easy board to look at.
These are my three favorite NHL player props for Wednesday, March 19.
NHL player prop bets today
Nichushkin + Drouin Over 0.5 points each (+210 at bet365)
Stephenson + Eberle Over 0.5 points each (+400 at bet365)
Domi + McMann Over 0.5 points each (+425 at bet365)
Best NHL player prop bets for March 19
Val Nichushkin + Jonathan Drouin Over 0.5 points each (+210 at bet365)
The Colorado Avalanche just hung a seven spot on the Leafs 11 days ago, with Val Nichushkin getting three goals and a helper. He's playing with Jonathan Drouin at even strength, and the pair are also on PP1, which makes this a head-scratching price at +210.
This is the highest-scoring offense in hockey over the last 10 games, and the Leafs have been anything but stout defensively, ranking 29th in expected goals allowed/60 and 25th in save percentage across the last 10 games. The Buds might have won a big game vs. the Flames on Monday, but this is anything but a well-oiled team right now.
If you can’t parlay point props, Drouin is +105 for a point, which is where he was while playing PP2. The books are slow to adjust his point prop after a promotion to the top man advantage.
This total has been getting hit to the Over, and another track meet is possible tonight.
I have the fair price for this two-player stack at +150 — right in the DeBrincat/Kane area. The pair are coming off a multi-point game which is currently +1400 to hit again tonight.
Joseph Woll starting for the Leafs is also an advantage for the Avs.
Chandler Stephenson + Jordan Eberle Over 0.5 points each (+400 at bet365)
This is the prop that dreams are made of. It's hit in five straight games and is longer than it has been all year. So why is there a discount on a pair that has combined for 14 points over the last five games? Projected team total and the confusion of the power play.
There is always good value on stacks with teams that split up the PP time pretty well and that’s Seattle. However, the Jordan Eberle/Chandler Stephenson line is the first unit over the boards, which is the most important as they get the offensive zone draw.
The books also love the Wild tonight as Minnesota is a -170 home favorite with a low total. Those conditions always boost the odds of point props for the dog, as their implied team total is around 2.65 goals.
Seattle put up six goals last night, and Minnesota is not a team I trust at -170 odds to win a game with its current injured roster. I have this fair price at around +200. These two are getting a load of offensive opportunities and capitalizing before the books can price it all in.
Max Domi + Bobby McMann Over 0.5 points each (+425 at bet365)
There is not much to choose from with only two games, but with how this third line for Toronto has been playing of late and the PP2 correlation, there is something here, for sure.
Max Domi has been playing out of his mind since the Scott Laughton trade, as the roster move has lit a fire under him. The third line of Domi, Bobby McMann, and Nick Robertson had three goals last game which was their first game together. It’s a line that might have a lot of trust with coach Craig Berube and had a 73% xGF% vs Calgary.
The second power play might only see 25% of the two minutes, but their 5-on-5 play might have earned them some more TOI tonight in a game that could see seven or more total goals.
Domi is on his best stretch of the season with four points over his last four games and eight in his last 11, while McMann and Robertson fit the line very well. Toronto has a scoring advantage with its third line tonight.
