Kings vs Kraken Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NHL Game

The focal point of tonight's game against the Kraken for the Los Angeles Kings is to remain healthy. As they have their sights already set on a playoff series against the Edmonton Oilers, it will be Seattle's final chance to end their season on a high note.

The Los Angeles Kings and Seattle Kraken are set to meet tonight for a meaningless game. The Kings fate is set, they’re hosting the Edmonton Oilers in round one, and the Kraken will not be participating in the playoffs.

So, Los Angeles needs to make sure that none of their players get hurt, while the Kraken play for pride and try to end the season on a strong note.

Find out why my Kings vs. Kraken predictions and NHL picks on Tuesday, April 15 favors the home team.

Kings vs Kraken prediction

My best bet: Seattle Kraken ML (-122 at FanDuel)

My analysis
David Rittich is the expected starter for the Los Angeles Kings tonight, and considering that they’re playing the second leg of a back-to-back, I imagine that some of their marquee players will be getting some rest tonight in order to keep them healthy for the start of the playoffs.

Since March 1, Rittich hasn’t been putting up pretty numbers. He’s only appeared in six games, and has skated to a .897 save percentage and a 3.10 goals against average in that span.

Since that same date, the Seattle Kraken have gone 10-9-2, essentially playing .500 hockey, but have been scoring 3.19 goals per game which has them right in the middle of the league rankings in that category. On home ice, the Kraken have been decent all year, skating to an 18-17-5 record, but their opponent, the L.A. Kings, have been much worse on the road as opposed to playing at home. The Kings are 16-19-5 as the visitors and are only averaging 2.52 goals per game on the road.

Joey Daccord is expected to get the nod for the Kraken tonight and he has been solid in his last 10 starts. In those games, he is 5-4-1 with a .908 SV% and a 2.70 GAA with a +6.0 goals saved above expected, he should be able to shut the door tonight.

I’m not expecting much from the Kings tonight, they have nothing to play for and their entire focus should be Game 1 against the Oilers.

Kings vs Kraken same-game parlay (SGP)

Seattle Kraken ML

André Burakovsky to have 1+ point

Matty Beniers anytime goalscorer

Andre Burakovsky has put up five points in his last six games, but has gone pointless in his last two straight games. He and Jared McCann have put up plenty of points together on the third line with Shane Wright over their past 10 games, the two have combined for 21 points in that span. I think he finds a way onto the scoresheet tonight.

Matty Beniers is sitting on 19 goals this season and will do everything in his power to hit the 20-goal plateau. Putting up points has been a bit of struggle for him lately and he only has one goals in his last six games, but considering that he’s one away from 20 makes me think he’ll be extra hungry.
