There are five games on the ice tonight, with the Florida Panthers visiting the Toronto Maple Leafs in a battle for top spot in the Atlantic Division jumping off the schedule as the marquee matchup Wednesday, April 2.

Here are my top NHL player props and NHL picks to complement tonight’s action.

Best NHL player prop bets for April 2

Seth Jarvis Over 2.5 shots (+100 at DraftKings)

The Carolina Hurricanes welcome the Washington Capitals to the Lenovo Center, and this should be a favorable spot for Carolina. Washington is playing the second leg of a back-to-back set and its third game in four nights.

As a result, I’m anticipating the No. 1 line for Carolina to drive the pace, and winger Seth Jarvis to have ample shooting opportunities tonight. He’s clicked with linemates Sebastian Aho and Jackson Blake for a dominant 63.3 Corsi For percentage and 64.9% shot share at five-on-five, and his shot volume skyrockets on home ice.

Jarvis has registered 9.31 shots per 60 minutes at Lenovo compared to just 6.91 on the highway.

Seth Jones 3+ shots on goal (+170 at DraftKings)

Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice has Seth Jones logging huge minutes and quarterbacking the No. 1 power-play unit. Jones has recorded three or more shots in six of 13 games since joining the Cats, and he’s averaged 27:55 of ice time (3:39 with the man advantage) over his past four.

This is also a soft matchup, with the Toronto Maple Leafs allowing the most shot attempts per 60 minutes and fifth-most shots per game since the calendar flipped to February. Additionally, Toronto has surrendered the seventh-most shots to opposing defensemen this season.

Jani Nyman Over 1.5 shots on goal (-120 at bet365)

Seattle Kraken winger Jani Nyman has recorded two or more shots in six consecutive games, and his 19.04 attempts per 60 minutes pace the club. The rookie is skating in a top-six role and has averaged 2:21 of power-play time during the stretch.

The Vancouver Canucks don’t check out as a prime matchup for opposing shooters, but Nyman projects to serve as the primary shooter on a line with pass-first veterans Chandler Stephenson and Jordan Eberle.

Nyman also averaged 2.47 shots per game in the AHL, with his 136 pacing the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
