There are 11 games on the NHL slate today and Josh Inglis is coming out firing with a trio of double stacks in three Western Conference games.

I went 2-1 SU here last night despite a losing night overall to make it three straight winning days with my condensed NHL player props card.

With a big 11-game slate tonight and a ton of stacks to stack, I’m looking forward to making it four straight winning days.

It’s a heavy double-double card today as I’m looking for points from the second lines of the Vegas Golden Knights,  Utah Hockey Club, and the San Jose Sharks.

These are my three favorite NHL picks for Thursday, January 23

NHL prop picks and best bets for January 23

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets

Pavel Dorofeyev + Tomas Hertl o0.5 points each (+190 at bet365)

I love second lines on the road and this one has been on fire. Tomas Hertl has points in six straight games (10 total) while Pavel Dorofeyev has points in four of his last five. Since Mark Stone’s return, the top line hasn’t really found its footing but this second line that also plays on the top power play has been leading the offensive charge.

The St. Louis Blues will be starting backup Joel Hofer who has been a serviceable backup but he will have to bail out the league’s worst penalty kill over the last 30 days at 63%.

I also have a bet on the double-double stack with Jordan Kyrou and Dylan Holloway to each record a point with the Vegas duo for +850 at a half-unit.

Matias Maccelli + Barrett Hayton Over 0.5 points each (+475 at bet365)

It’s not often you can get a correlated pair (PP2) at this price but there are a lot of check marks here to make it one of my favorite stacks of the day.

The Matias Maccelli, Barrett Hayton, and Josh Doan line is coming off a six-point night vs. the Winnipeg Jets. Their time on ice is up thanks to the injury to Dylan Guenther, and it’s a second line who will get the better matchups on the road vs. the Minnesota Wild.

Minnesota is returning some players to the lineup today including Kirill Kaprizov and Jared Spurgeon. However, the lines have been juggled and sometimes it takes a game or two for the roster to settle.

Goalie Filip Gustavsson is also not in great form going 0-3 SU over his last four games with 19 goals on 118 shots. He has allowed five, four, six, and four goals in consecutive starts.

If you’re really getting greedy, add Josh Doan to this double. He is playing on the top power play and is coming off the first multi-point game of his career. That triple stack is a whopping +1,100.

Will Smith + Fabian Zetterlund Over 0.5 points each (+375 at bet365)

Let’s stick with the theme of manageable double stacks at great plus money. Will Smith and Fabian Zetterlund play on the top line for the San Jose Sharks and together on the second power play that gets more ice time than most second units. The duo has combined for five points over the last two games and the stack has hit in back-to-back matches. The ice time is growing and because Smith has just been added to the point market, his price is way too high for a point at +165.

These two teams just played in Nashville a couple of days ago where the Sharks raced out to a 5-1 lead early, only to lose 7-5. The Preds could make it easy on the Sharks by going with backup Justus Annunen as Juuse Saros has played three straight games and is coming off a clunker.
