The Masters is officially complete with Scottie Scheffler standing tall donning his first green jacket after an impressive victory at Augusta. Now, the road to the PGA Championship begins in earnest with the RBC Heritage this weekend.
Scheffler isn't in the field, but there are plenty of familiar names in the running including betting pre-tournament favorite Justin Thomas.

Notes on the Field
It's the week after the Masters but that doesn't mean all the big names are taking a breather before pushing toward the PGA Championship next month. In fact, five of the OWRG Top 10-ranked golfers are playing. So even though Masters champion Scottie Scheffler and former World No. 1 Jon Rahm are absent, there is plenty of star power in the field at the RBC Heritage.
Pre-tournament favorites to win the RBC Heritage
Justin Thomas (+900)
Thomas has been a model of consistency this year. Since the beginning of January, he's recorded a Top-10 finish in five of the seven tournaments he's played in, including a T8 at the Masters over the weekend. Thomas didn't play at Harbor Town Golf Links last year when Stewart Cink came out as the surprise winner, but he did finish T8 at the event in 2020. Thomas continues to be among the best in the world from the fairway as he ranks second in strokes gained from tee-to-green and fifth in SG: Approach the Green. He also trails only Cameron Smith in scoring average.
Collin Morikawa (+1,200)
Another golfer who finished strong at the Masters, Morikawa is coming off a fifth-place finish at Augusta. He's played somewhat sparingly and missed the cut at THE PLAYERS Championship before a T68 at the Valspar heading into the Masters. But he also has a T2 at the Genesis Invitational and a T5 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions under his belt in 2022. The RBC Heritage marked Morikawa's lone appearance between majors last year and he made it count with a 12-under T7. He's the top-ranked golfer in the field as the OWGR World No. 2 behind Scottie Scheffler.
Patrick Cantlay (+1,400)
Cantlay started 2022 very strong, culminating with a second-place finish at the WM Phoenix Open following a playoff loss to Scheffler. Since then, however, he finished 33rd at The Genesis Invitational, missed the cut at THE PLAYERS Championship, and had an uneven performance at the Masters en route to a T39. Cantlay missed the cut at the RBC Heritage last year — and didn't enter the event in 2020 — but finished two strokes off the leader for a T3 in 2019. Prior to that he had finishes of T7 and T3 in 2018 and 2017, respectively. He likes this course even if 2021 didn't go exactly as planned.
Cameron Smith (+1,600)
Smith is riding high after winning THE PLAYERS and finishing T3 at the Masters. The 28-year-old Aussie has jumped up the OWGR rankings to fifth after ending 2021 at 21st. This was one of his strongest stretches on the calendar a year ago as well. He followed up a 10th-place result at Augusta by finishing T9 at the RBC Heritage. He did, however, miss the cut at Harbor Town Golf Links in the prior two years.
Notable longshots
Stewart Cink (+18,000)
Yeah, but what have you done for us lately? Winning the RBC Heritage by four strokes as a significant underdog last year, Cink is facing way longer odds this time around. It's understandable as it was only his second PGA Tour win since his Open Championship victory in 2009. However, it also marked the third time he's won this event, though he hadn't taken that crown since 2004 when it was called the MCI Heritage. Nevertheless, Cink is in the field and he can't be fully discounted. Besides, the 48-year-old turned back the clock to finish T7 at the Valspar last month.
Luke Donald (+30,000)
Another Tour veteran, Donald hasn't won since 2012, so he's justifiably listed at extremely long odds. But, he's consistently been in the mix at the RBC Heritage over the years, finishing as a runner-up on five different occasions (2009, 2011, 2014, 2016, 2017). Donald has missed the cut each of the last three times he's entered the field at Harbor Town, so buyer beware. He is pulling +1,000 odds for a Top-20 finish, so as markets broaden there may be more desirable options if you want to take a flier on Donald tapping into some old energy,
