My analysis
There have been over 2.5 goals in six of the last seven encounters between Brighton and Chelsea in all competitions. If you are after goalscoring entertainment, this should be a decent outing for your delight.
Both sides are built to attack. Given that some of the crucial players in both teams will be granted a rest, those who usually serve as back-up will try to show they can be counted on. Chelsea have a squad that's full of talent. Games against open opposition are always the perfect scene to show some skills and there should be plenty of showing in Saturday's clash.
There have been over 3.5 goals scored in four of Chelsea's previous five matches. Brighton are also fresh from a high-scoring clash. They lost 7-0 at Forest last weekend, in one of the most surprising results in 2025 so far. They have something to prove against Chelsea. When they last faced Chelsea in the Premier League, Brighton lost 4-2 at Stamford Bridge in September, after wasting a two-goal advantage taken early in the game. Chelsea came back and scored four in a row until the half-time whistle was blown.
Chelsea have been winning both at half-time and full-time in their last three games against Brighton. Their previous five encounters between the two in all competitions ended with Chelsea on top. It's the FA Cup, Brighton have a lot to prove and Chelsea are bursting with talent. Have I not convinced you this game screams 'goals'?
